Dream lead Tommy far, and I mean far. Through the woods, over bodies of water, and many different terrains. Ghostbur joined them about halfway through, keeping Tommy some company as they traveled.
He kept saying things about the "crime boys" and being on an "adventure" or "holiday" and it was starting to annoy Tommy. He was still very numb from everything, and Ghostbur's nagging and perception of this whole thing were really just pissing Tommy off.
Dream, meanwhile, stayed quiet during the journey, only checking on Tommy periodically as they kept walking. He was pleased by Tommy's reaction, and how quiet he was, even with Ghostbur's constant rambling.
They were coming up on shore, Dream rowing the boat with Tommy in the back, and Ghostbur floating behind. He was still ranting about God knows what, and the other two just wanted him to stop, for it to be quiet.
Tommy rested his head on his hand, his fingers intertwined with locks of his hair.
He tried desperately to keep himself calm, to not completely snap at him, but the more time that he kept talking, the harder it got.As the sun set, Tommy got more and more anxious for this exile area. With Wilbur, he dound a ravine and didn't have to do much work to have a shelter, but with anything he had in sight so far, he would have nothing to work with. It was full of hilly plains and vast forests that went on forever.
Dream finally got them to the shore, throwing the paddles onto the sand of the beach. Tommy looked around the area, trying to find and sign of a shelter, ignoring Ghostbur completely.
"Get off first, Tommy." Dream directed him, interrupting the ghost. Ghostbur stopped talking for a moment, letting the boy get off the boat.
Dream got off right after, dragging the boat up onto the sand again. The three were silent as Dream did his work. Tommy waited patiently for him to get fully off before trying to speak to him.
"How much farther will it be?" He spoke quietly, his voice raspy and rough, his eyes finally looking up at Dream for the first time in the few hours they had been by each other's side. Dream brushed off his pants, tilting his head to the child.
"This is the spot." He answered Tommy, bringing his hand up to adjust the mask that rested on his head. Tommy looked around the area, only seeing a plain surrounded by trees on each side, the ocean to his back. He frowned at the sight.
"I have to make my own place again? How will I find the resources?" He questioned the man, confused at how this whole thing would work. After all, he never thought it would truly happen. He was devastated by it, though, and couldn't imagine what this would be like.
"You can figure it out. There's caves and forests all around this place, just don't venture far. You won't be able to get back to L'manburg from here. It's not like they want you anyways, they wouldnt have exiled you, hmm? I'll be back to come watch you tomorrow."
Tommy sighed and mumbled a small sarcastic "Great." under his breath. Dream heard but didn't act on it. Instead, he spawned out his weapon, the axe that had harmed Tommy just the day before, and held it up to him. Ghostbur watched all of this happen, floating quietly behind as he worried for his brother.
"Speaking of, drop all your stuff." Dream commanded, threatening with his axe. Tommy's eyebrows furrowed as he processed the order.
"Wha- why would I give you my things? No, I'm not just- No!" He denied it, laughing a bit through his words. Tommy almost thought it was a joke, that Dream was just messing with him.
He was quickly proved wrong, Dream forcefully pushing him to the ground. Tommy caught himself on the way down, propping his body up a bit as he looked scared towards the man standing above him.
