- a few years later -
It's just a normal day like any other. Taehyung is spending his time at Jungkook's house playing video games together. The boys laugh and giggle while playing Mario cart on the TV. Taehyungs parents have to work a lot since his mom got a new job so he spends most of his time with Jungkook. Jungkook's parents are always welcoming Taehyung with open arms, they love him as if he was their own son.
They are best friends, even more than that - they are soulmates. They can tell each other everything: secrets, thoughts, insecurities, fears, and crushes. Knowing that the other one will always have their back.
After having some dinner, they're heading upstairs to get ready for bed. It became something normal that Tae would spend the night here, and Jungkook feels a lot safer and calmer knowing his best friend is in the room with him. And as always Jungkook makes sure that Taehyung doesn't sleep in the upper bed because he is afraid of heights. And that's just a normal day like every other one.
- the next day at school -
Sadly, Jungkook and Taehyung don't go to the same class so most of the time Taehyung just feels bored. His classmates are not as cool as Jungkook is.
Jungkook is sitting in the classroom opposite Taehyungs. He's working on a PC, trying to improve his typing skills (and of course, he's the golden maknae he is already a pro in it). So instead of actually doing the assignments his teacher gave him, he uses the time to send some emails to Taehyung, because he too misses him (a lot).
[...]
Another reason why Taehyung hates being alone in his classroom is because of this one boy who always picks on him and makes fun of him. He would never miss an option to annoy the fuck out of Taehyung. When Jungkook is not with him, he and his friend would make fun of Taehyung - his clothes, his hair, his smile. It makes Tae so insecure even though he knows that they are just some idiots who love to make others suffer. But it's 1 against 2 - and Taehyung is losing. They would even call him words and swear at him. Sometimes they would even hit and push him - just like today. But Taehyung never tells anyone, he's too afraid they wouldn't believe him and just laugh at him and think he's weak. Taehyung hates being weak, he's not! He just hates it and hopes the boys will leave him alone soon.
That is until Jungkook comes out of his classroom, much earlier than expected. And he sees how some boy is hitting his Taehyung. Jungkook feels so much anger inside of him that he has to control himself to not punch the hell out of the guy. He promised himself to always protect Taehyung. Always.
Jungkook starts running towards them. "Hey, you!", he shouts, and both are turning around, Taehyung with big anxious eyes as he sees how angry Jungkook is. "How dare you touch my friend, huh?! You wanna catch these hands?! I swear if you only look in his direction, I will make sure you'll never be able to see again." The bully gets pale when he hears Jungkook's angry words. "I-It was just a joke haha, right Taehyung?" "Don't talk to him you asshole. And now leave, I will never see you again with him, understand?!"The bully panics and runs away together with his friend. Shocked by Jungkook's words, Teahyung is just staring at him. Jungkook grabs his hands. "Let's go somewhere quieter Hyung."
Jungkook leads Taehyung to the bathroom where he immediately starts to cry. Taehyung doesn't know why but he feels safe with Jungkook and suddenly there were tears. Jungkook is quick by his side, brushing the tears away with his thumbs. "It's okay Hyung", Jungkook smiles softly, "you're safe. I will always keep you safe, okay? Don't worry, I'm always here for you." Taehyung smiles through his tears and is being pulled into a hug by Jungkook. And Taehyung can't keep his heart from beating a little bit faster than usual.
