The night was as lively as ever inside a busy and noisy tavern. People were eating, drinking, laughing and chatting with each other. It was a joyous sight. The tavern was quite big. It was spacious, with several wooden posts supporting the ceiling. Wooden round and square tables were arranged inside, along with wooden chairs and stools to sit on.
The corner of the spacious room have several red sofas and wooden tables in them. With the bar counter situated right on the middle of the room easily accessible for both the servers and customers.
And at the far corner of the room was the stairs to the upper floors of the building. The whole place was giving off a free cozy vibe. A perfect place to get drunk and unwind.
However, contrary to the loud and lively first floor, the first room in the second floor was enveloped by a pin drop silence. This room served as the office of the tavern owner. And the said owner was currently having a not-so-peaceful night right now.
"So it's either I help or I die?"
An elegant man dressed in white inner robe paired with a black and white outer robe calmly broke the silence. His whole person was emitting an enigmatic aura.
The man could be described as handsome, with his long black hair that falls elegantly 'till just above his waist. As well as deep black eyes that weren't visible due to the black headband that covered it. Making the man seem blind to onlookers.
Well, aside from his appearance, the man itself was excluding a gentle and refined temperament that simply grab people's attention. He seemed to exist in an entirely different world as the others.
People who saw the said man might mistake him for an elegant scholar or a foreign noble. But in fact, this man was the owner of the bustling tavern just below the room they were in.
Li Shilian, the tavern owner, was calmly sipping tea. In front of him were visitors that, quite frankly, weren't really welcomed by him. Three people that Li Shilian didn't really want to talk to if possible.
"We are giving you a choice Mr. Tavern Owner. Be thankful that the liege even considered recruiting you."
The arrogant man said. He was the only one who was seated in front of Shilian. The other two, who were wore pure black outfits from head to toe, were standing behind him. Guarding the conceited man.
Truthfully, Lei Shilian didn't know who they were. No, to be exact, he didn't bother knowing. All he knew was that they were a part of some big secret organization that was active in the Eastern Continent.
What were they doing in the Western Continent was something Li Shilian knew as well. Well, he knew that all the mess happening in their continent was the organization's doing. But it wasn't something that he cared about, until now.
"I think you're mistaken good sir."
Li Shilian said before pausing to put his tea cup down. His movements unhindered by his supposed 'blindness'. This, went surprisingly unnoticed by the three visitors.
"It was this 'liege' of yours who's lucky that I didn't bother with him 'till now."
The war, the kidnappings, the destruction. None of the organization's movement bother Li Shilian to an extent. As it didn't affect him nor his people.
Hearing this, the conceited man was furious. He was just about to lash out when Li Shilian continued talking. Not giving him any chance to say anything.
"Unfortunately, he decided to dragged me into the range of the storm that's brewing."
