-after shopping and nails-
I could feel my eyes drooping, I was exhausted. The day was relaxing, but long. I got a manicure and pedicure, then we went shopping for clothes, books, makeup, shoes, hair stuff... Practically everything they've already provided me with. I protested saying it was too much, but she didn't listen. I felt horrible for Cole, being dragged around like that. We spent six hours in that mall. It's now eight a night. Even though it was late, I my legs are beyond weary. I fell into a light sleep, so I could still tell what was going on around me, just not clearly. The radio was softly playing, and Cole chatting to mum about football. I finally let myself fall asleep, lightly. My eyes were shut and my neck leaning on the window, my body limp.
"Looks like Mary fell asleep," mum said quietly, turning the radio off. The car soon stopped and turned off.
"I'll go get dad to get her," mum said, closing her car door.
"I got it," Cole said, closing his door an opening mine. Unbuckling my seat belt, her lifted me up, my head resting on his shoulder. I always feel safe around him.
"Looks like she's pooped," I heard dad chuckle.
"We all are," mum groaned quietly.
"Hey guys," Logan said loudly, running down the stairs. I stirred, making it look like he was waking me up so he'd get in trouble. After this morning, he deserves it.
"Geez, keep it down Logan," Cole said, anger hinting in his voice.
"Oh yeah, let's not all wake the poor baby," he said sarcastically. Oh, I could've killed him right there.
"Leave her alone," Cole hissed, carefully carrying me upstairs. Thank you Cole, for defending me against your dickhead you call a brother.
"Goodnight," Cole whispered, laying me gently on the bed, putting a blanket over me. A moment later, I heard mum in my room, setting down bags. She took my socks, shoes, and plaid shirt off, leaving me to sleep in skinny jeans and a tee shirt, also tucking me in.
"Sleep well, pumpkin," she whispered, kissing me on my forehead and left. After that, I settled into a deeper, darker sleep.
Nightmare:
I was sitting next to a hospital bed, my mum laying sick. She looked how she did the night daddy called the paramedics.
"I love you mummy," I cried, holding her hand.
"I...love...you. Stay...strong, princess..." she whispered, coughing up blood.
"Please, please don't leave me. I need you," I cried harder, gripping her hand desperately. Daddy was sitting on the other side, silent tears rolling down his cheeks, holding her other hand. Then, she went lifeless. The line went flat, the machine going off.
"HELP! DOCTOR!" I cried out multiple times, but no one came. I looked over to daddy. He wasn't breathing, and now looked like mum.
"HELP!" I cried, tears running down my cheek, and I sobbed. It got harder and harder to breathe, oxygen became difficult to breathe in.
-End of nightmare-
"Mary? Mary!" Cole called, shaking me. I opened my eyes, confused. I realized I had been crying, tears were still wet on my cheek and salt licking my lips.
"Are you alright? You were screaming and crying," he said, then mum and daddy walked in.
"What's going on?" Mum groggily asked.
"Why are you awake Cole?" Dad asked, clearly annoyed.
"She had a nightmare, I heard her screaming, and I came in to wake her up," Cole explained.
"Cole, go back to bed. We can help her," mom yawned. He hesitated, but got out to avoid making dad mad.
"Sweetie, can you try to go back to sleep? You can sleep with us," mum offered, but I shook my head.
"Cole," I pouted, pointing to his room, which was next to mine.
"I'm going back to bed while you too sort this out. Goodnight Mary," dad yawned, walking out.
"No honey, he needs to sleep," mum said.
I shook my head, "Cole," I said again. He's the only person that actually calms me down.
"He has to sleep. Come sleep with me, or sleep by yourself," mum said sternly.
"Cole!" I said, a little louder.
"No. He's sleeping. Come on, grab a pillow and join me and daddy," she offered, and I shook my head, refusing.
"Fine then, sleep by yourself. I'll be in my room if you need me," she said, "goodnight sweetheart."
I noticed a camera in my right ceiling corner of my bedroom. How did I not notice that?! Overprotective parents. I sighed, wishing they weren't THAT overprotective. Oh well... I laid there, unable to sleep for about five minutes. I heard the door creak open, but even with my little light on in the bathroom I couldn't tell who it was.
"Calm down, it's just me," I heard Cole say.
"Thank you," I whispered. He slept beside me, just quietly talking about my dream. After twenty minutes, I fell dead asleep.
