Chapter Seventeen

Ada's POV:

After Teresa grabbed onto my hand I managed to pull her up with the help of the others. While we were pulling her up the building crumbled beneath her and the only thing holding her up was me. When we managed to get her up we all settled back into the seats and the next few hours were spent flying from the burning city to the Safe Haven. Thomas was patched up well enough for Mary to be able to tend to him when we get back. 

Teresa wasn't in as bad of a state as Thomas. The worst thing she had was a bit of a bad throat from the smoke inhalation, other than that she was fine. 

Vince had informed us all that after getting the berg they fixed up the ship the rest of the way and some of the immunes went on the ship and the others on the berg. They had set up camp in The Safe Haven and that was when Vince decided to help us.

We landed in the Safe Haven 5 hours later, most of us were sleeping and had to be woken up. Thomas was taken into a small hut and laid onto a bed. I stayed with him the whole time they patched him up. Everyone else went to bed and the only time I left Thomas was to bid Chuckie goodnight, missing doing little things like that. 

Thomas was in a coma for the next week, healing after everything he had been through. In that time we had found out a lot about WICKED and what they had done to Teresa to make her betray us. It turns out that, like they gave Thomas and I telepathy, they also planted a chip in her brain. The chip allowed them access to control her so after she got out of the maze and they took her away from the others, they were putting her under their control in case they managed to escape, which they did. 

As soon as Ava Paige started to realise that WICKED would never find the cure, she started to slowly release Teresa from her control. When the building crumbled all the computers that were controlling the chip, died and she was finally free to be herself.

We all forgave her for what she did, knowing that she wasn't in control of her actions and it went back to how it was before everything happened. There was just more people this time and we didn't have to live in fear anymore.

I spent everyday in the tent with Thomas. I would spend my dinners with him and I would try to sleep by his side but since news got out that I am pregnant everyone has been dotting on me. They make sure I sleep in the hammocks or an actual bed. They make sure I eat three meals a day and that I don't do any extraneous tasks. 

The last week in the Safe Haven had been paradise. We were all together again and were one big family but now we were waiting for Tommy to join us.

After a week had passed since we first arrived in the Safe Haven, Teresa, Newt and I were going to the food tent to get everyone their lunch as we had decided to eat outside today.

When we walked back out, I saw something I didn't think I would see for a while.
