A wise friend once told me
That the rain us a symbol of victory
Oh no, rather he told me
Not to fret, the rain is there
We always win every competition when it rains
When it rains after the scorching heat
And now I've always found it comforting
Today I'll get my hopes up
For a better tomorrow
Many good things happened today
And many things showed promise for tomorrow
Today I rest my sorrows
Today I rest my grief
Tonight I'll plant my hopes
On a victorious day tomorrow
For the battle is won tonight
And so it rains.
I hope my friend feels the same
For he too, once lit a hope in my heart .
