taylor pov

we arrived at home and i stopped the car, "and here we are. home sweet home." i said and smiled.

selena smiled too and got out.

i got out and opened brooklyn's door.

"you ready?" i asked.

she shifted in her seat and i could instantly tell she was nervous.

i unbuckled her, "hey. don't be nervous okay? selena and i will be right by your side the whole time okay?"

she nodded and crawled out of the car.

i smiled and went to walk away, "taylor!" i heard brooklyn call out.

i turned around and she was standing still.

"what's wrong?"

she looked down and held her hands.

i held my hand down to her and she looked up with tears in her eyes and smiled lightly.

she took my hand, sliding her soft skin into mine, fitting perfectly like a glove.

i smiled and we walked inside together.

this girl is surely something special.

"brooklyn. come on sweetie. dinner." i said and reached my hand towards her.

she smiled and took it and i walked us downstairs.

selena smiled, "hey pretty girl."

brooklyn crawled up the seat and sat down.

i kissed selena and sat down.

brooklyn didn't eat.

"why aren't you eating?" selena asked softly.

brooklyn looked up, her hands clasped together, "we didn't pray." she said.

my heart was warmed.

i looked at selena and she smiled.

we nodded and clasped our hands together.

brooklyn closed her eyes and spoke, "thank you god for the food on our plates and for life you gave us." she said in the cutest voice ever.

i glanced at selena and she was smiling lovingly at brooklyn.

brooklyn spoke again, "thank you for giving me hope and for keeping my mommy and daddy safe in heaven."

i teared up as she spoke.

"and thank you for giving me taylor and selena because without them i would still be in that orphanage with lillian and the other girls who hurt me. they are my guardian angels from above and i couldn't be more grateful that you gave me 2 people who actually care. thank you. amen."

i smiled, "amen." selena and i said in unison.

brooklyn opened her eyes and unclasped her hands.

she started eating her noodles and chicken.

i smiled and looked at selena.

selena looked at me and smiled and we both ate our food and dinner in a peaceful silence.

knock knock

"you ready brooklyn?" i asked.

brooklyn shook her head and clung to my leg.

i laughed and rubbed the top of her head, "hey it's okay." i said and bent down.
