"She always wanted us to make-up! She wouldn't have given me your hotel room and phone number if she wanted us to keep fighting, and her constant intrusions to give me yet another screeching lecture really-"

"You had my room and phone number? Why didn't you use it?"

"Because I was too stubborn, alright?! I wanted you to apologize first. But then when Leona told me your secret, I realized that I had it all wrong from the start... I actually went to the hotel this morning, but you were already on campus by then. And then by the time I got to the soccer field, you were already gone. We just kept missing each other, Chace! You don't know how relieved I was to finally find you with all your stuff in front of Massey. I was going to apologize when we got back to our room, but then you brought your shit in here and... well, things got a little loud and out of hand after that."

"So then why did you kiss me?! If it wasn't a last ditch effort to get me back into our room, then what the fuck was it?!"

"I kissed you because in the moment, it's what I wanted to do most in the world! There were no ulterior motives. I just had the feeling that you were holding back, so I wanted to step forward. You like me, don't you Chace?! That's why you're afraid to be near me. You think you can't hold back your feelings anymore and you'll do something stupid that will make me run away forever. But you don't have to hold back anymore, because I like you too! Do you hear me?! I have real feelings for you! I LIKE YOU, CHACE!"

"But you're straight! You date girls! You can't actually want a boy, Ian!" He cried out in confusion and disbelief.

I closed the distance between us despite the fact that he was still fearfully stepping away from me. When I had him pressed against his desk, I placed both of my hands on his biceps to pin him down. I shook him slightly and forced his gaze to mine. "Forget about gender and the labels, Chace! They don't matter. All that we need to be sure of is that you like me and I like you. So is that true? Do you like me?"

He nodded slowly, still afraid of what was happening. "Yes."

I smiled with relief. "Thank god!"

"And... you like me?" He asked tenaciously, needing that extra bit of confirmation to calm his nerves. "You like me in that way?"

"Yes, Chace... I like you in a romantic way. So I'd like to take you out on a date-"

"No, not yet."

"Huh?!"

"I want us to become friends again first." He spoke firmly as he pushed me away. "I don't think it's right for us to go from enemies to lovers."

"We were never enemies!" I clarified with a chuckle.

"But we've been fighting for over a week now! Even though we had these confusing, romantic feelings for each other under the surface, the emotions and acts that we chose to expose were very negative and hurtful. We tore our relationship apart, Ian! I want to go back to the way things used to be before we dare try to take it further. I want to be friends with you again, because that connection we had needs to be the base of our romance." He rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment before asking, "Does that make sense to you? I'm sorry if I'm asking for too much. It's just that if we're going to do this, I want to do it right."

I gave him a reassuring smile before playfully asking, "Wanna grab a coffee?"

He laughed out loud as he glanced at his alarm clock. "It's a quarter past ten at night!"

I just waited patiently for him to say the only response that was acceptable, still smiling playfully as he took in my expression.

He replied, "Sounds perfect."

GAHHHH!!! These two have got my knickers in a twist! 🥵 So many hot moments that tease the reader...
Despite being the author and knowing how the chapter plays out, I still screamed at my phone "KISS HIM" when Ian had Chace pinned against the desk 🤣 I'm also like, "NATE ISNT HERE, SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE ROOM AND FUCK ALREADY!!!"
AH Hahaha!!!

So what do we think of Ian's confession? It was sorta a strange two-parter with their first kiss in Chace's POV chapter and then the words "I like you" in Ian's POV chapter after he had a moment to formulate is jumbled thoughts.
Will his confession slowly continue in upcoming chapters?

What do you think of Chace's decision to get back to being friends before becoming official lovers? He always did cherish their friendship in a sweet, devoted way 🥰

What do you think of Ian's attitude to "fuck labels and gossipers"? Nice change from some of the other boys in this book 😏
But will this attitude conflict poorly with Chace's attitude towards the situation? He has been closeted, after all. AND he's a social media star... so maybe he'll worry more about the labels and gossipers?

How CUTE is Ian in regards to his bravery?!?!? 😍 I just love how determined he is to be Chace's boyfriend despite potential setbacks. He's the kind of guy that says DAMN ALL WHO JUDGE MY HAPPINESS 💗 now that he knows it's his love for Chace that makes him happy, he's not going to let him go!
It's like his stubborn behaviour is FINALLY being used for good. He's proven that he can hold a feeling in the form of a grudge, so now it's time to hold onto a more LOVING FEELING ❤️ 😍
