*FIVE YEARS PRIOR BEFORE THE ACCIDENT*
I get ready for school, for everything. I've prepared for my speech weeks ago when they announced that I'd be the Summa cum laude of our batch. I breath in and finally, I've waited for weeks to attend the graduation practices, no school, no stress, and only a few more days, I'm already independent.
Somebody knocks on my door, a familiar knock that made my eyes roll. "Come in." I say, looking at myself at mirror. I see Alec's head slipped between the space of the door, on the mirror and he rolls his eyes at me as he sees me brushing my hair.
"Are you ready?" He asks, making me furrow my eyebrows at him. "It's the last day of school and it's also the last time you would be popular before you have a job."
"I'm still going to be popular." I state. College has been a home for me. It made me queen of something and with this, I realized that I love attention and that's why I can't live without people praising me or talking about me, good or bad. I love making a face for me in the crowds. I always stand out because I'm confident, confident of my doings.
"Are you sure?" He asks, raising his eyebrows. "How could you so sure that you would still be popular?"
"Of course," I sneer at him. "I'm going to be the most famous model in the world! People wouldn't forget this beautiful face I have. Thou shalt not forget!" I stand up, grabbing my bag and slinging it on my shoulder. He laughs in response, as I straighten my clothes and smile at him.
"Margo! Alec! Mom said that you two are driving me to school!" My little sister, Hadley, shouts. I groan in irritation because I don't like people calling me 'Margo', 'GoGo', and many more pet names. I love my name, and soon, that name will be in billboards and covers in the magazines. Alec laughs again because he knows about my issue about my name.
We rush downstairs and see mom fixing her laboratory gown. My dad, on the other hand, is drinking coffee and he's in his business suit. I walk to mom and kiss her goodbye and I did the same thing to my dad. They say 'I love you' at the same time and all of us, siblings, rush to the garage and Alec drives to school.
We drop off Hadley in the high school department, which is at other side of the college department. She's in junior year, which for me is the worst year the I experienced in my high school life. I'm glad that she's mentally stable and she hasn't died with the amount of requirements to finish in that year.
Alec parks in our usually spot and I go out after he cuts of the engine. I grab my bag that's full of crap because it's last day. No lesson. There will be only the preparation of the graduation ceremonies and the turnover of the student council.
I walk to the classroom and greet them a good morning. I walk towards my friends, who are sitting at one corner of the room, laughing.
"Hello," Ashley says, fixing her hair into a braid.
"Hello, people," I reply. "Have you finished your jobs in applying an internship?"
"Nope," Logan replies. "How about you?"
Before I can answer, Ingrid, some snotty bitch, joins our conversation. "Of course, Asher," she sneers. "She's the summa cum laude of fuck's sake. Although, Ms. Perfect here doesn't have an agency to attend to. Aw, her poor career of being famous."
"Nobody asked you, bitch," Ashley spits, making me roll my eyes.
"Okay! Somebody became so snotty!" Ingrid fires back. Before Ashley and I can reply and strangle her, Mr. O'Neil enters the room, making all of the students to be in their best behavior. I give Ingrid my death glare and I head to my seat, hitting her shoulders forcefully I can, and she was taken back with my actions. I know I'm thin, but dear god, I have so much strength in me.
