Ichika sat in the stands next to Midoriya to watch Todoroki's battle, finishing the last of her ice cream. "Oh! I didn't miss Todoroki-san's battle!" she exclaimed, grinning. "Awesome! I've been meaning to watch him fight more, his style of fighting is really interesting. He can power through almost anything with his ice," Ichika rambled, missing Present Mic's voice announcing the start of the battle.
Sero started immediately, wrapping Todoroki in tape and swinging him towards the boundaries.
"That attack could throw his opponent out of bounds!" Present Mic announced. "A brilliant, surprise opening from the underdog!"
"No kidding," Ichika said, her eyes wide. "He's gotta break out, right?" she asked no one in particular.
That's when she felt it. Her stomach flipped, and her ice cream threatened to come back up. She clamped a hand over her mouth.
One look at Todoroki's face told her it was anger; seething rage boiling under the surface coming out all at once, in one single attack.
It felt like an earthquake racking the stadium as ice spread from Todoroki's right foot, almost hitting the class 1-A students in their seats.
"Oh... wow..." Ichika murmured as Iida, Ochaco, and Midoriya squealed in terror. The attack had been so fast that they had barely seen the growing ice before it was right in front of their face.
It was beautiful, in a scary kind of way. The way the jagged edges caught the sunlight and reflected it like a massive kaleidoscope.
Ichika moved so she could see the battlefield and looked at Todoroki sadly. He broke out of Sero's tape.
She shivered from the cold coming off the ice, rubbing her arms to try and regain some heat. She didn't really hear the conversation between Midnight and Sero, but Midnight shouted, "Sero is immobilized! Todoroki moves on to the next round!"
The rest of the battles weren't as eventful, and soon enough, it was Ichika's turn to fight Kaminari.
She sat in the waiting room, her heart pounding in her chest. She had to dodge his first attack. If she didn't dodge that one, she was out. She was chewing on her fingernails when Ochaco and Midoriya walked in.
"Hey Ichika-chan! We came in to wish you good luck!" Ochaco smiled brightly at her, "Not that you need it, though!"
"I'm sure you'll do great, Sakurai!" Midoriya pulled out his notebook. "I have a few ideas for you, to help in your battle. I was thinking--"
"No thanks, Midoriya-kun. Thank you, though! I know what I'm gonna do."
"What is it?" Ochaco asked expectantly, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"You'll have to find out," Ichika winked, standing up. "I should get going, thank you two for wishing me good luck!" she stood and bowed, smiling at both of her friends.
"Are you ready, listeners?!" Present Mic announced, his voice echoing throughout the stadium.
"Here we have the tiny but fierce Ichika Sakurai! She's been pulling some crazy moves this whole time, now let's see her in a real one-on-one!"
People cheered, and it was for Ichika Sakurai, not Annya's little sister. Ichika felt like she was on cloud nine, and couldn't help but grin like an idiot.
Their cheers were a drug she could never get enough of.
She couldn't help but glance towards the announcement box where she knew Annya sat. She couldn't tell which of the three figures was her sister, but she knew she was up there.
