Y/n's POV

The following evening, I prepared for my party. I already couldn't stand that idiot man and now he'll be staying in my house for the party. At least other people would be there so I wouldn't be alone with him. After an hour or so, at least forty people had came to the party. I sat down and sipped on a glass of wine.

"You should stop now" Spencer spoke so only I could hear him. "It's a party let me enjoy myself" I replied dryly.

He then took the glass out of my hand. I stood up to get it but I remembered how many people were there. I gave him a fake smile and gazed into his eyes.

"You two seem very playful, it reminds me of when I was in my youth" an older woman spoke to us. "Hopefully our children come out as fun and playful as us" Spencer said.

I internally gagged.

"How many children do you plan on having?" the woman asked us. "Oh...that's a good question" I replied to her. "Six...at least" Spencer didn't hesitate at all.

This son of a- Deep breaths Y/n, deep breaths, I fought the urge to slap him across the face.

I looked the other way and saw that the Moriarty Brothers had arrived. They were wearing matching suits. A black coat with a white button-down. They also had white bowties and gloves. Albert instantly went to the table where wine was being served and William found my brother. Louis started talking to one of the other guests.

"I'm gonna get something to eat" I said before trying to get my wine back.

Spencer raised his hand up so I couldn't get it. I walked away and picked up a mini sandwich from the platter. I took small nibbles and walked around my house. I got another glass of wine and saw Albert standing by the back door. He motioned me to follow him and I waited until no one was looking at me and walked to my backyard. I loved the way the roses looked at night. The way they were barely illuminated by the moon but you could see the red petals and the pointy thorns.

Albert's POV

I saw Y/n admiring the roses. She looked gorgeous as usual but something in me wanted to get her attention.

"Did you forget about me?" I asked her. "I didn't, I was just looking at the roses. Something about the night brings out a whole new type of beauty in them" Y/n explained. "Is it as beautiful as you?" I asked her while messing with a strand of her hair. "You know I'm getting married right?" Y/n reminded me. "I'm aware...but I can tell that you're not being true to yourself" I said to her. "Albert...I don't know why but it feels good to be here even though it's wrong" she admitted. "I guess I have that effect on women" I replied with a smile. "Don't flatter yourself, I'm not proud of it" Y/n said before taking my glass of wine. "This is 100 times better than the one I picked up" she said.

I watched as she finished the glass of wine in front of me.

"Thanks, Moriarty" Y/n said to me before going back inside. "Y/n wait-" I called out to her. "Please don't lecture me about not being ladylike, I've heard that too many times in the past few days" Y/n said. "It's not that, just let me know if that man ever hurts you. I will be at your aid if you need me" I said to her. "I'll keep that in mind, you have a good heart Albert" Y/n went back inside.

She had so much potential yet it was all going to waste because of this whole marriage thing. I wanted to protect her from those who were out to hurt her. She didn't know it yet, but the Marvolo name was trying to destroy her and her family. I went back inside and found Louis.

"Why aren't you enjoying yourself?" I asked him. "Aren't we supposed to be doing something else here?" he replied to me. "We are but we can do both" I explained to my youngest brother.

I saw a woman around Louis's age and I looked at my brother.

"Why don't you go talk to her?" I suggested to him. "I'm fine, thank you" he denied my suggestion. "Okay then, I'm gonna go talk to Spencer Marvolo" I said to him.

I approached the man and greeted him.

"Good evening, Mr. Marvolo. I have heard that you're Miss Y/n's future husband" I said to him. "That's me" he smiled. "So do you have any wedding plans?" I asked Spencer. "Not really, I'm just eager for what happens after marriage" he said. "What do you mean by that?" I asked. "Well I've heard a lot about that Y/n and she's a dancer too" he went on. "What are you trying to tell me?" I politely asked. "Listen here Moriarty, I know you're a few years younger than me but you need to understand something" Spencer slung his arm around my shoulder. "And that is?" I asked him. "When you see a young promising woman like Y/n, you take her as yours. The younger she is, the more you can do with her" he explained. "But what if she doesn't want to be treated like that?" I asked him. "She won't complain. You see, when you marry a woman, you can do whatever you want and she'll have to go with it or she will be out of line" he explained. "I don't think I'll be taking that advice" I kept my composure. "Listen Albert, you're a fine man and many ladies are after you, breaking them in a way will feel good" he laughed as if he told a joke. "I'm sorry we'll have to continue this conversation another time, I appears that my brothers are ready to go" I said to him.

I walked away with my blood boiling. How could really one want to break down a woman like Y/n? Whenever you see a girl like her, you make sure nothing gets in the way of her success. There was no way I was going to let this slide.
