Sophia's POV

I was a jittery mess as I waited for the time to tick by. I had a bad habit of picking the skin off my lip when I'm nervous. I sat on my hands to avoid making my lips more chapped than they are. Drew knocked on my door, making me snap my eyes towards him.

"Is my little sister nervous about something?" He teased.

"Date at 6 and I'm freaking out." I paced up and down. "This is my first date, Drew! I'm scared!"

"Oh, you're going with Maya! That's gre-"

"Vanessa." His smile dropped. "She's picking me up at 6 and what do you do?! What do you do on a date? I don't know-"

"Hey! Calm down." He chuckled and sat me down. "Everything will be fine. You look beautiful, so calm down. This is just a fun outing, so relax. Have fun and be your amazing self. I'm not surprised it took someone so long to ask you out because you're extraordinary and people have to hype themselves up just to talk to you." I smiled and hugged my brother.

I received a text from Vanessa and jumped off my bed. I gave my brother a confident smile and marched out the room. I raced down the stairs and was about to open the door, but my parents called me.

"We were planning on having a family dinner. Where are you going?"

"Umm..." I nervously looked at the smirks on Drew and Connor's faces. "A-A-A date?"

"A date?" My dad choked while my mom smiled.

"That's so sweet." My mom smiled.

"Where's this boy? If he wants to take my daughter out, then he should have the balls to meet me." My dad narrowed his eyes.

"Who said it's a guy?" Connor smirked while I glared. Connor opened the door to reveal Vanessa. "Ta da!"

My parents' faces were priceless. Vanessa saluted me and waved to my brothers. My mom snapped out her shock and approached Vanessa. I found the ceiling more interesting than my dad staring at me like I grew two heads.

"Since when?!" My dad blurted out, causing my brothers to snicker. "Well, hello." My dad shook Vanessa's hands. "Sorry, I was expecting a freckley, thin boy. You are a welcoming surprise. At least I don't have to worry about her being impregnated-"

"Dad!"

"She still needs protection." Drew tossed me a dental dam.

"What's that?" Connor squinted while I glared at my laughing brother.

"Okay!" I captured everyone's attention. "Vanessa meet my family. Mark, Janelle, idiotic Drew, and cunning Connor." I glared at the boys. "Bye!" I grabbed Vanessa's hand and dragged her away from my house.

"Where are we going?" I asked when I got in her car.

"Surprise." She smirked and backed out. "I admit that I asked your friends for things that you might like. Hopefully, they were helpful."

I was shocked at how easy the conversation flowed between Vanessa and I. We were cracking up and laughing like we've known each other forever. After a while, we arrived at an indoor mini golf place. I smirked since I loved mini golf. Vanessa smiled at my excitement before the two of us entered the establishment. She paid for us, much to my disapproval.

Vanessa and I laughed as we failed to hit the ball into the hole. The glow in the dark course was cool, especially since the balls also glowed. Vanessa and I ended up cheating and throwing the balls through the tunnels. We ran around to make sure they ended up in the hole.
