Calum and I ran into the parking lot trying not to get caught. We made it to his car and got in quickly.
"There's this place I've been wanting to take you to for a while. But I've never actually found the time," Calum tells me.
"And what is that place exactly?" I ask.
"I can't tell you or else you won't be as excited to go. Just trust me. It'll be amazing," he says. I shrug and take out my phone.
When the silence gets too awkward, Calum turns on the radio. Instead it isn't the radio. A album is playing. A One Direction album.
Baby if you say you want me to stay I'll change my mind
As the lyrics blast through the speakers I turn to Calum and raise my eyebrows. I'm not the one to judge but Calum really doesn't come off as a guy to listen to One Direction. Most guys deny it so you never really think about it anyways.
"What? I can like One Direction if I want," he exclaims in defense. I laugh at him before turning down the music a bit.
"I didn't say you couldn't but you never mentioned it. Besides, you should take me to their concert this year," I respond.
"I'm obsessed with Four. Louis' vocals are amazing," Calum gushes.
I have chosen wisely with this one.
"Are we almost there yet?" I ask.
"I'm not going to tell you," he teases. I groan and take a nap.
When I wake up the car is coming to a stop. We're surrounded by trees and bushes. I hear water rushing and birds chirping. I look around to the area and take it all in.
"Wow this is wonderful," I mutter undery breath.
"Come on. This isn't all." Calum pulls my arm and drags toward what looks like tree house. Well it is one. The tree has moss and bugs covering the trunk but I'm not worried. The only thing I'm worried about is this falling while we're in it. Calum climbs up the ladder first and I follow behind him.
He opens a door leading to the inside. Calum let's me in first and I look into the room to see a chair, a few blankets and pillows, a trunk, and a guitar. I wonder what's inside the trunk.
"A few months ago you brought me to that river where we kissed and so I wanted to bring you here for a date. Its nothing expensive and I get it if you don't have fun afterwards but I just really wanted to spend time with you," Calum explains. I smile and turn to him to give him a tight hug. "By the way I found this tree House so if it happens to break and we get injured please don't sue."
"Thank you so much. This is the best thing anyone has ever done for me. I feel like you actually understand," I say. He kisses my cheek and let's go.
He lays out a blanket and a few pillows and then moves over to the trunk. He opens it and reveals drinks and snacks I'm guessing which are for the both of us. He beckons me over to sit with him.
"Is that your guitar?" I ask referring to the acoustic guitar in the corner of the tree house.
"Yeah. It relaxes me," he answers.
"Can you teach me a song? I only learned a little about guitars but that was a long time ago," I respond. Calum grabs the guitar and hands it to me.
As he shows me where to put my fingers I feel how close he is to me. Even though we've already kissed, cuddled, and hugged it reminds me of when we first started off. I kind of want to go back to those times but that's when I felt more guilt. That wouldn't be so great.
"Can we eat now? Its been a few hours and I didn't eat lunch," I complain. I finally got the hang of the song pretty well but I'm really hungry so that's all I could.think about.
"Sure thing. I have Cheeto puffs, sodas, brownies, gold fish, and some other stuff," Calum says.
"Just give me anything!" I lay back on the blanket and rest my head on a pillow.
"So if I were to give you a worm you would eat it?" Calum jokes but I glare at him.
"Don't joke around like that when I'm nearly starving to death! What kind of evil creature are you?" I cry.
Sometimes when I'm hungry I'm really dramatic. Sometimes I'm just hungry or just dramatic.
"If you say please and give me a kiss then you can get some food," he taunts.
"But that requires for me to get up and go over to you and then finally get to eat. You're trying to sneak in a workout."
"For a cheerleader who does conditioning you're really lazy," he mumbles.
"Oh fuck off," I laugh. Calum opens the bag of Cheeto puffs, grabs one, and puts it in my mouth. He lies next to me so I roll over so that I'm facing him.
"Do you still want that kiss?" I ask.
"I don't know. I'll have to talk it over with my people," he says, his voice filled with sarcasm. I roll my eyes and go for a peck on the lips but Calum is thinking way more. He moves his lips against mine and I can't help but to kiss back.
After a while I move back because I'm still hungry. I pop a small brownie chunk in my mouth and rest my head on Calum' shoulder.
"Can you play me a few songs on your guitar?" I ask and he nods. He starts strumming to the tune of All of the Stars by Ed Sheeran. I continue eating and drinking throughout most of the songs he plays but end up falling asleep during the last one.
I wake up in the middle of the night to see that Calum and I are still in the tree house. Calum's asleep on my shoulder and I can't move my arm because I need to hold him up.
"Cal, wake up," I say and push him with my other hand. He barely responds to my actions and I groan.
"Wake up!" I shout and you can hear my voice echo a bit. Calum is startled and sitting up properly with his eyes wide open.
"What? What's wrong?" Calum asks.
"We need to go home. Its late and I need to go shopping for the perfect dress with Beatrice," I inform him. He nods sleepily and gets up. He holds out a hand to help me up as well.
I have a feeling that the car ride home won't be the safest...
