AN ANGEL'S SORROW

BY: CINDERELLE

From my perch upon the clouds,

I watch the world begin.

The waves are peaked with caps of foam,

In which I'll never swim.

Below me there are wedding bells,

And ladies dressed in white.

My eyes will well with jealous tears,

That can't be shed tonight.

A butterfly,

Is passing by,

And mocking me with mirth.

It flits its way,

As if to say,

I'll never touch the earth.

A raindrop's kiss,

Will splatter me,

To rest upon my cheek.

The clouds shall scowl angrily,

Their judgments being bleak.

I'd hoped to make a friend up here,

Perhaps a lonely dove.

After all,

The world is dull,

When living up above.

So watch me,

Perched upon the clouds,

A flaxen girl of grace.

You'll see me clear,

When moonlight's near,

Adorned in pearly lace.

Life is charming in the clouds,

Of that you can be sure.

The gleaming stars,

And flawless night,

Are beautiful and pure.

To think,

I'd leave it all behind,

Without a second thought.

For loneliness,

Is far too large,

A price to pay for naught.
