"You played really well in tonight's game, Zeke," Janet said as she entered her boyfriend's Detroit home with him following close behind her. "I think you guys have a real shot at making the playoffs this year."
Isiah rolled his eyes. "Making the playoffs and losing again?" He leaned against the wall, gazing at the back of Janet's head as she sat back on the couch. "Sounds like such a great plan to me."
"Talking like that, you must want to lose." She looked over her shoulder at him. "You have to have a winner's mentality and you have to want to win."
"I want to win but there's no way I'm making it past Jordan," he said, shaking his head and letting out a sigh. "Not with key role-players missing. No Mahorn, no Rodman. And then everybody is injured. It's basically me and Dumars against the world."
Janet nodded. "Well, I still have faith in you two." She turned her body at an angle, lifting her legs onto the couch and gaining a better view of Isiah as he stood behind her. "Now, I believe that a kiss for good luck is necessary for success."
Isiah chuckled and stepped closer to the couch. He leaned over the couch's back and placed a soft kiss on her lips. As he moved back from her, Janet's facial expression shifted. Her right brow raised and her head tilted slightly to the left as she looked him up and down.
