Little bit of inspiration from another fanfic of mine, an old one... sorry for typos ahead of time. Also, this is incomplete at the moment, I plan to have more chapters. How many? Not sure yet..

Ryujin knows how it always ends up. She lets her guard down, and her opponent gets away. She hoped this one would result in a victory.
"Shin Ryujin. I know you." The brunette said, sais outstretched, her eyes a deep red while Ryujin struggled to keep her head in check. The arena was empty, Ryujin had no whiteness if something poor were to happen.
Or maybe her current aggressor was pulling an illusion on her. She had the same red eyes as an illusionist after all..
"You're very pretty darling." She said, stepping closer as they circled.
"Darling? That's new." Ryujin said, her sword outstretched with both hands, her grip vice.
"Is it?" She smirked then. "Good."
Ryujin attached first, one dodge and a clinking of steel. Red flames from her sai combining with Ryujin's purple ones on her sword. They gazed into eachother's eyes.
The brunette was feirce, definitely a leader, a strong one. But deep down there was something sad, and Ryujin was mysteriously drawn to it.
Ryujin's own glowing purple iris' were tired, but just as strong and cunning.
They broke, their flames lessening. They circled once more, Ryujin swinging her sword in hand while they stopped and stared at one another. Detecting, peeling apart their weak spots.
"For an Illusionist you show a lot of skin." Ryujin said, her eyes carefully raking up her body. Red silk wrapped in certain places, her legs almost fully exposed, her stomach on full display. Though, Ryujin knew under some of the silk were more than deadly weapons. Hidden from her sights.
"For a warrior you talk a lot." She replied, smiling. Her mouth and nose was covered with a mask, seemingly gold plated on the edges. She had a hood up too. But, her eyes smiled enough for Ryujin to question why she was fighting this girl.
Oh yeah, she's an illusionist.
Ryujin kept her gaze tight, at any moment the girl could fake herself and Ryujin would be fighting a phantom. They charged, getting into a tumble. Ryujin closed her eyes for a moment to prevent dust from coming into her eyes as they smashed into the ground.
She was surprised to get the advantage, most illusionists are better fighters. With a few punches and restraint moves she disarmed the brunette and ripped her hood off. Then her mask.
She was remarkably beautiful. But, Ryujin had a job.
"You can tell me where your clan is, and maybe I'll spare you." Ryujin said, her blade just a flinch away from the other's neck. The raven-haired groaned, pulling on the illusionist's hair harder, her head tilting back brutally with the action.
"Darling, you're so foolish." Like that, her body disappeared under her, dissapating to nothing. Ryujin panicked, by the time she turned around her blade was kicked out of her hand and the brunette had restrained her. "You should've let the dust get in your eyes." She spoke voice low in her ear.
"You're making a mistake. You kill me, and you wage war against the king." Ryujin said, starting to panic internally. Most opponents run off, but this girl wasn't.
"Your eyes are so pretty this color. I don't think I've seen purple before." She said, adding more force to her hold when the raven-haired tried to struggle. "It's always blue. Blue flames, blue eyes, blue blue blue."
Ryujin thought about that often herself too. She was the only warrior with purple. She didn't know why, didn't ask why either.
"Do you wonder why?" She asked, her body flush against Ryujin's in order to keep her grounded.
