I was in shock.
I could not remember much. I only recalled glancing in the mirror to see my eyes turning red and the hair upon my head forming a crown of thorns.
However, I did not appear shock. I looked pleased, content at my form.
Minthe has completely disappeared and I could not care less. In fact, I was thankful for it.
I had enough of the party, so I just called a taxi to take me back to the hotel. I debated telling Dante I was leaving but I stopped. He does not need to know. He has no control over me.
Everything was a blur and when the soft comfy pillows welcomed me, I gladly fell into a deep sleep.
-
I woke up groggily. Beside me, was a glass of water and anarex pills. I gladly took them.
I was starving so I quickly changed to head into town. After having a quick bite, I wandered to a part of the town I hadn't been to before.
There, tarps and tents were set up to create temporary stall. I absolutely loved the medieval feeling it gave.
Time flew by and I bought many little trinkets I knew Gillie would love.
I somehow stumbled into a fortune telling tent and met a nice girl name Cy who was about my age.
"Come come, let me tell you your future." She exclaimed excitedly at the prospect of having a customer.
I hesitantly stepped into the dark tent. Surrounding me was glass bottles and jars containing weird items suspended in liquid.
"Hi, Im- ."
"Bella? I know." I got cut off by her knowing smile.
"Uh no. Thats not my name."
Her smile dropped.
"Uh, Kiki?"
I shook my head.
"KB? Jenny? Resha? J.T?"
"Are you listing names off that Drake song?" I raised an eyebrow.
She smiled sheepishly before gesturing me to her table.
"Im sorry, tourists eats this shit up. Im not really good at this. Im just taking over for my mother who is feeling under the weather today." She explained.
"Well theres no harm in trying right?" I smiled politely.
She clapped her hands excitedly as she mysteriously took out her tarot cards. I laughed freely at the show she is putting on.
"Hm looks here you are in a bit of a predicament."
I rolled my eyes. Aren't we all?
"With a guy."
What a shocker.
"He is bad for you. He has done some stuff in the past. Some horrid things. And he is hiding those and more."
I shifted in my seat uncomfortably. This was getting graphic.
"You should look into the painting he just bought."
My blood ran cold. How could she have known? My eyes met hers and she was staring intently at me.
Her eyes glowed hauntingly.
"I think I better go..." I stammered. The homely tent does not appear as homely anymore. Instead it felt cold and damp.
I threw the money down for her service fee and sprinted out.
