Chapter 5: My Path

Jaune was shook when he read [Azrael]'s description. He held it with shaking hands. He never thought about it but now that he received this greatsword, it looks like that Ananke is giving him equipment and skills all related to killing. Hmm.. it looks like Ananke is really trying hard to make him a huntsman.

"Hey Ananke, [Azrael] has been enhanced right? What was it like before?" Jaune asked after he composed himself.

[Yes, [Azrael] before it was enhanced, could only use it's death impose with a rather low probability. But the divinity that enhanced it was a divine being well versed in the concept of death. Since he enhanced [Azrael], it's death impose wouldn't work on you but it will still apply to your comrades.] Ananke explained to Jaune.

Jaune was shocked when he heard that. "Hey Ananke, was the divinity who enhanced this the same divinity who gifted me the Fate system?" He quickly asked.

[Yes Jaune, but that is the only thing I can say.] Ananke said to Jaune.

Jaune nodded and took a deep breath to calm his rapidly beating heart. He was extremely surprised that the divinity who was basically his patron was a divine being who specializes in killing. After a few minutes he calmed down and held out [Azrael].

He really should be careful when using this sword, although it's death impose wouldn't work on him.. it will still apply even against his comrades. He wouldn't want to accidentally kill his friends and family.. now that would just be tragic.

Jaune thought about his current armaments and was quite surprised about what he learned.

He has an ability that can seal semblances and aura, an ability that can help him get stronger the more he kills, a greatsword that has the ability to kill anything, and a system that encourages killing... only one word came into Jaune's mind... Damn.

It's been three days since Jaune acquired [Azrael] and has been using it ever since. He stored [Caliburn] in his [Interspatial Dimension], as he has no use for it right now.

Jaune encountered several grimm when he was travelling and has almost finished his current kill count. He has been practicing with [Azrael], every swing, every kill he made with [Azrael]. On his third day, [Azrael] alreasy felt like a part of his limb. Attacking with [Azrael] has become second nature to him.

Jaune looked at Ananke's screen contemplating of using another Fate card when he sensed movement from 45 meters away from him. Looking at the life signs, they were humans without aura. And judging by their atire, they must be bandits.

Due to Jaune mastering Aura Enhancement and acquiring his Saint Body, he could make an aura field that lets him 'see' everything within its area of effect. With his mastery over it, Jaune could expand his aura field for about 2 miles. Jaune has been constantly using this skill, so that he could achieve a state where he wouldn't need to constantly focus to use it. He wants to make it into a passive skill, something that is always active.

After seeing the 3 bandits make camp somewhere inside his aura field, Jaune decided to use a Fate card and obtain a new ability.
