Chapter 26. Not so Fast

Abby POV

We were making our way thru the vents following Jake and Aurora and trying to be quiet while we go. It is painfully slow. As we reach a larger section that splits 3 ways Jake leads us to the right.

"Be careful in this section" he warns us.

I feel my foot start to slip as one of the grates gives way. I fall and it happens so quickly I am startled and let out a shreik of surprise.
Kane grabs my hand and I dangle for a moment before my hand slips and I fall to the floor below.

"Well, Dr Griffin, this is a surprise."

I look around and I find myself staring at the face of Nick Marsh. The man who had tried to kill me on the Ark.

"Please tell your freinds to come down. None if you are going anywhere." He tells me as a man grabs me and ties my hands.

Wick POV

Liv had just finished telling Marsh that Abby had escaped when she falls through the ceiling.

Marsh and Liv are both delighted at the turn of events.

I just feel sick.

Liv and another guard train their guns on the ceiling as one by one the remaining fugitives slip down from the vents. Each new person is made to stand by the wall until we can get their hands tied.

I make sure I get Bellamy.

While the rest are distracted I tie his hands loosely and hand him a small knife. I shake my head slightly indicating for him to wait before doing anything.

He looks at me and nods imperceptibly.

"Make sure they don't have any weapons" Marsh instructs.

The two guards search Jake and Kane but don't find anything. Liv finds a pistol on both Clarke and Aurora, but nothing on Octavia. "Well we can't let you keep those." Liv smirks at them.

What are we going to do with one knife???

"What do you want us to do with them? " Liv asks as she hands a gun to me and one to a guard.

"Take them to the Drop. I think they will enjoy it. Especially Abby" Marsh says in a low, menacing voice. He gets close enough to Abby to whisper in her ear. We can't hear what he says but we can see her face visibly pale. She refuses to cry though. She probably knows it won't do any good anyway.

"Keep your hands off of her! Ooomph!" Kane yells before he is punched in the stomach by Marsh forcing him to double over in pain.

"Don't worry Kane, I am sure you will enjoy the Drop almost as much as Abby. The council always sticks together you know. Well of course you do. " Marsh says mocking them. "Let's go" he snaps. "We need to split up, if Chancellor Bennett catches us we're toast. You know the drill."

Liv leaves taking the women and one of the guards.

Marsh leaves 5 minutes later taking Kane and Abby.

He probably doesn't want them out of his sight.

I am left with the Bellamy, Jake and the other guard.

When we are the only group left the guard starts to untie Jake and says "Let's go."

"It's not time yet" I protest, unsure if it is a test from Liv.

"My name is Dave, and it is if you want to save your friends from Marsh." He hands me the gun and takes out another one.
"Now, here is what we are going to do."

Abby POV

Marsh leads us out first. I am not sure where we are going but it doesn't sound good and I am terrified.

His daughter Lily was one of our test subjects at the lab. Jaha had taken her into custody to punish Marsh for some supposed offense. Marsh had been told that she was in solitary in the Skybox and would be kept there until he did whatever it was that Jaha wanted.

He found out Lily was not in the Skybox.

When he found out where she really was he went ballistic. He tried to kill me, and he would have if it hadn't been for Marcus.

Obviously Jaha couldn't let him live after he found out about the secret lab. The decision was made to float him. He had no one to moarn him, his wife had died two years prior and by then Clarke had mercy killed Lily to put her out of her misery, having followed me one day and discovering my gruesome secret...

I am pulled from my thoughts as we get shoved thru a door.

We must have been near the center of the mountain. We were in a large cavernous room with a cliff and a drop off that looked unending. The light that was used for this room cast strange shapes on the wall. Looking at the cliff I felt my fear intensify.

"Don't worry Abby" Kane whispered.

"Quiet!" Marsh yells just as Liv and the others come in the door. "Oh good, more guests."

Liv leads the women in and makes them stand in a line next to the wall.

"Hook Abby up" Marsh instructs.

Liv grabs me and leads me to the cliff. I close my eyes afraid to look down.

Bellamy POV

After Dave unties us, he give Wick and I a gun. He takes us to the drop but at the same time he is talking to both my mom and Clarke thru a comm link telling them the plan.

He is talking to someone else too but he doesn't explain.

We hurry along the halls and before we enter he tells us to pretend to be tied up until he gives the signal.

Jake and I both nod and we go inside not sure what will be behind the door.

Clarke POV

We all watch as Marsh strings my mom up over the cliff to just dangle there. The whole time telling her how she had destroyed his life.
Before he is done, in walks Wick and the others. Octavia had managed to hand me a knife and I was trying to cut myself free.
When I am free I decide to distract him to give Bell and the others a chance to take them down.

"Marsh! I am the one who killed Lily, not my mother!

"Clarke no!" My mom warns.

Marsh looks at me with pure hatred. "Bring her here!" He yells to Liv his face turning red.

As Liv goes to grab me I free my hands and punch her full on the jaw catching her completely off guard.

That was when all hell broke loose.

Marsh comes to intervene telling Dave to get us under control. Kane, having been freed by Bellamy goes after Marsh and tacckles him and they are soon throwing punches and rolling on the ground dangerously close to the edge.

Dave and Jake have managed to free to others and are working on trying to get Abby down.

Bellamy and Octavia try to pry Liv and I apart.

Dave shoots his gun off in the air to startle us into submission but then we hear a piercing scream.

"Kane!" My mom shrieks. We all watch in slow motion as Kane and Marsh both roll over the edge of the cliff.
