You were awoken by your mother knocking on your door and calling your name. Sitting up with a start, you called out to her that you were coming.
Before leaving the bed, you threw the blanket over Tendou's head to try and hide him a little bit at least. It was pretty obvious someone was under there still, but it was all you could do.
You opened the door far enough to not seem suspicious, but not far enough that your mom had a good view of the bed.
"Is everything alright? It's almost nine and I haven't seen you up. You're not sick are you?" Your mother asked, sounding worried.
"No, I'm fine mom." You said and rubbed the sleep from your eyes while trying to come up with an explanation. "A went to bed early yesterday and woke up again in the middle of the night. I couldn't fall asleep anymore, so I worked a bit."
"Oh, ok. Don't push yourself too hard, you want to be in good health when college starts." She told you and you assured her you were doing just fine.
"I'm leaving for work, your father already left." She said and it might have been the first time ever that you were glad to have them both gone.
"Okay, see you later mom." You told her and shut the door as she made her way to the stairs.
You waited until you heard the front door shut, indicating that she had left the house and let out a relieved sigh. You went to check up on Tendou, but he seemed to be fast asleep still. You took the opportunity to quickly go to the bathroom to get dressed.
Then you went downstairs to look for some breakfast and to make a certain phone call.
When you were done, you went back upstairs, two bowls of rice topped with some furikake and a fried egg as toppings in your hands.
You put them down on your desk and went to check up on Tendou's clothes and noticed that both his jeans and hoodie were still damp in some spots.
You turned them around hoping to still get them dried in time and went to sit at your desk to eat, waiting for Tendou to wake up.
It didn't take long before you heard a groan coming from beside you and you turned to see him sitting up in the bed.
"Good morning." You told him. "I got some breakfast for you if you want it."
He turned his crimson eyes to you and managed a weak grin. "It doesn't really matter if I want it does it?"
You returned his grin as you responded. "Nope, you're going to eat it, whether you want it or not. You already ate nothing yesterday."
"Just give me a minute." He said before letting himself fall backward again.
"Your pants and hoodie aren't fully dried yet." You notified him, not knowing if he had fallen back to sleep or not.
"That's okay, I got one in my backpack." His muffled voice came from underneath the blankets.
"Your backpack?" You looked around the room, not having any recollection of a backpack.
He sat back up at your question and seemed like he was more awake this time around.
"Yeah, I quickly stuffed the things I didn't want to leave behind in it." He explained.
"There's no backpack here." You said, wondering if he had dreamt it.
"It must still be downstairs next to the couch." He said nonchalantly, but you jumped out of your chair alarmed.
"Oh my god! I can't believe I forgot to put it away!" You suddenly remembered him having it with him when you first let him in. "I hope my mom didn't see it! She acted normal this morning though."
