Mild manga spoilers in the first part? It's the same ones as the last chapter, so if you read those parts, it doesn't matter.

———

You were sitting on the porch again, watching as Tanjiro trained. Your wounds still hadn't fully healed and since you always trained like you were of peak health, Urokodaki forbade you from moving from your spot until dinner. Bearnice was laying down in front of you, looking like she was having a grand ol' sleep.

"It's so boring, isn't it?" You muttered as you started petting Bearnice's head. "I want to do something but I don't know what."

As you continued to pet Bearnice, you noticed a cat coming up to you.

"Huh?" You narrowed your eyes at the cat, wondering why it seemed so familiar. When you noticed the paper on its chest and the pack on its back, you held back a loud gasp.

It's fucking Chachamaru! He's so cute!

Chachamaru came up to you, boldly jumping to your lap and sitting down so the brown pack was by your hands.

"Do you have something for me?" You asked and he flicked his long, multicolored tail. "It's in the pack?" You carefully opened it, pulling out a small letter and a strange knife thing. You couldn't recognize the handwriting (or what it said since it was all in Japanese) but there was only one person who could have sent this letter.

"Thank you. You can go back to your owners now," You quietly said. Chachamaru meowed, jumping off of you and disappearing without a trace. "Now how do I do this?" You stared at the letter, hoping to recognize any vague symbol in the lines.

That looks like a 't'.

You stared some more, narrowing your eyes.

Is that a less than sign?

"What are you doing?" Sora's familiar judgmental tone made you look down to where she was now standing on Bearnice's back. "Are you trying to burn the paper?"

"No, I'm trying to read it," You stated, "But . . . I can't."

Sora stared at you for a few moments. "You see me speak English and ask me to deliver verbal letters, clearly aware that I am not any ordinary crow, and still obliviously not ask me for aid."

You snapped your head to her. "Wait, you can read Japanese?" Sora most definitely rolled her eyes.

"Give it here." Sora hopped onto the porch next to you and you set the letter down beside her. After scanning it for a few minutes, she started to read it out loud. "'Dear (L/N) (Y/N), I thank you for your letter and your suggestion. I have indeed received a letter from the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps and have accepted his proposal. I will admit that I have briefly dived into researching a healing serum for humans. It did not seem to produce any results, but if it will help in the future, I will dedicate my whole being to creating such a substance. Additionally, in your letter, you also mentioned a drug to weaken that man. I have been thinking of such a substance and would graciously ask for your aid. To create such a drug, I must acquire the blood of demons who have a high concentration of Kibutsuji's blood within them. I'm sure you are aware of what this entails.

"'With this letter, I have included a special knife used to collect blood. Please use this and collect the blood and send it through Chachamaru, the cat who gave you this letter. There is no need for you to reply to this letter, as I would know when you have received it. I thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring the downfall of that man. I am in your debt, young slayer. Regards, Tamayo.'"
