Chapter 14

I don't know how I got here, there are vines all around me, on the floor, on me and on the strange walls that surround me. I think it's night and I'm scared, I can hear metal clanking everywhere and I feel like it's getting closer with every second, no matter which direction I go. I feel like I'm going in circles over and over again and I just keep turning left, left then left again, Help me.

The day before

I woke up today and I went to work like normal. I never noticed how much Newt affected me when I was working. He was always full of jokes and whenever I didn't know how to do something he would guide my hands and make sure I understood. He wasn't there today. Work was dull and boring, I barely got anything done and the heat overwhelmed me, not allowing me to do any work. After a morning without him I couldn't take it anymore and I went to his hut. "Newt, are you there?" I asked, knocking on the door. "Neeeeewt?" I asked again in a sing-song voice. "I'm coming in ok, so don't be naked." I said and I entered with my eyes shut tight. He wasn't anywhere in the room and I even checked in the bed. "Newt!?" I said again a bit confused as I left the hut. I spent the rest of the day looking for him wherever I could. The huts, The map room, The tower, The forest and even the kitchen, but no one knew where he was. At last I couldn't take it anymore and I went to Alby, crying. I entered his hut and he looked up, concerned. "Y/N, what's wrong?" he asked me concerned as he pulled me to sit next to him. "I can't find Newt" I said and he pulled me up and we went to his hut. Alby walked around and leaned over the bed to pick something up. "Alby, what is it?" I asked him, he shook his head trembling a bit. It's a note" he responded. I rushed to his side and he read the note to me as I sat on the bed.

"To Alby:

You all know that I've been struggling lately and it's not you guyses responsibility to take care of a 15 year old. So I've decided to take care of the matter. I'm not telling you how because I know it will upset you too much. All I will say is you don't have to worry about me any more. All you've done this whole time is take care of me and I've seen that you don't really enjoy my presence. Thank you for everything.

 To Y/N:

I've really enjoyed our time together and even though we've known each other for only 2 months I already know this is the hardest goodbye I have to write. I really like how you're so positive about everything and you make me laugh in every situation I'm in. I'm sorry if this makes you sad, but you'll see that without me you'll have a better life in the glade. You are so strong and I know that you can do this! I never meant to hurt you in any way by doing this, I only want to make you happier. I also know that you'll try and come after me. Don't.
