Before I knew it, he and I were kissing in the bathroom. It was absolutely magical.

When we finished, we exchanged phones and I put my number in his phone.

“Oh, I’m Ezra by the way,” he said.

“Lovely to meet you Ezra, I’m Aria,” I winked.

He sighed. “I should probably go. I have a class to teach tomorrow.”

                “Bye Ezra,” I smiled.

                He smiled and walked away.

I walked outside and smiled. I couldn’t believe I had just found the perfect man. I walked down the road to my house.

About halfway home, it clicked. He was Ezra Fitz. The English teacher-my English teacher. I couldn’t believe what I had just done. The world was spinning. I sat down in the middle of the sidewalk. I didn’t know what I would do. How would I go to school tomorrow? How could I even show my face there? I didn’t think he knew that I was his student… If he did, I could go to the police. No-I wouldn’t go to them. I loved him. I didn’t care if he was my teacher or a stranger I had just met in the bar.

I walked into my house and up the stairs. I locked myself in my room and fell asleep immediately. I was exhausted.

I dreamt, of course, about Ezra. About our night. About everything that had just happened. I kept waking up, only to go back to sleep and have the same dream.

After the fourth or fifth time, I woke up suddenly. 4 AM. “UGH,” I sighed. I couldn’t go back to sleep. I got ready for school and when it was finally time to go, I decided to walk. I needed to clear my head.

I walked into English class with my head down. I sat down next to Emily.

“Hey Aria! How was the rest of your day yesterday?” she asked me.

“It was…” I paused. I wasn’t ready to tell Emily about what happened last night. “It was good.”

“That’s good!” she replied. “I wish we had more classes together. That would be awesome. I really missed you Aria.”

“I missed you too, Em,” I brought back her old nickname that Ali used to call her.

                Emily smiled at me.

We talked for ten more minutes until a new English teacher walked in. Not Ezra. Good. Maybe I could make it through this day.

“Hello, I’m Mr. K. I’m your sub English teacher,” he said. He was an old man, with grey hair and big glasses.

“Where is Mr. Fitz?” Spencer questioned.

“He, um…” Mr. K. tried to think of an excuse as to why Ezra wasn’t here.

Spencer cleared her throat, waiting patiently for a response.

“He’s in jail. He was arrested last night. We don’t know why.”

I gasped. I didn’t know what had just happened. He was in jail. Jail. I wondered if we had been caught kissing on camera. If they knew I was a student and he was a teacher. What if I was next? What if I ended up in jail?

I ran out of school when the bell rang and ran to the bank to get some cash. I knew exactly what I had to do.
