Damien

"Ethan wants a video proof that you can skate. He was very adamant about it."

"Ok. Take a video," Adriana says, skating backwards.

I pull my phone out and take a video.

"See, Ethan. I can skate perfectly fine," Adriana holds up her glove covered thumbs.

"And she hasn't died from boredom. Your old man is fun," I say before stopping the camera

Adriana skates back towards me and I catch her in my arms. "the only thing I don't know how to do is stop. It's ok though I've got you," she taps my chest

"Yes. I'll always catch you, Chérie," I tell her

"You sure?" she questions looking up at me

"Promise. And in my family we don't break promises," I shake my head

"I'll hold you on it, Mr. Carvelli," she says before skating away

I follow her with a smile on my face and when I catch up to her, I take her hand in mine.

"We have our reservation at 8. We should get going," I say checking my watch.

The time says 7:30 and it takes awhile to get around in downtown toronto on a Friday night.

We get off the ice, and sit to take off our skates. I help Adriana take her's off before taking mine off.

"Did you play hockey when you were younger?" Adriana asks as we walk back to my car

"Yeah. It was free back in the day, so my dad would buy me skates. Or I'd play ball hockey with the kids on the street, but it was usually basketball," I tell

"I remember Austin making Amanda and I play against him. We made him swear he'd be the next Wille O'Ree," she shakes her head

"I don't know how good he was back then, but now he sucks," I chuckle, "When him and his family join us at the cottage the man can't even stay on two feet."

"He was horrible. But we were supportive sisters towards him," she says softly

"Coincidence that all your names start with an 'A'" I comment

"I know. It was meant to be,"

We get to the car and I open the passenger door for her. When she gets in I close it and walk to the drivers side to get in.

"Hope you're competitive. Cause we're going to the arcade."

"Are you secretly a professional pool player? No one's ever beat me before,"

"When my dad was around, he'd take me to the bar with him and he and his buddies would teach me to play. Then I got into the military and when we would be able to go to bars and stuff we'd always play pool," Adriana tells as she gets another ball into the hole

And it so happens to be the 8 ball. The last ball.

"Maybe I should teach you how to play," Adriana says, coming beside me as I stand at the end of the table and contemplate my turns.

"You know what, Adriana. I think it's impossible to teach this man. From the way he was playing, I think this is the best he'll be."

Adriana and I both turn around and see Lauren.

"Hey, Lauren. What are you doing here?" I ask

"It's Ben's birthday. He and his friends are running around here, somewhere," Lauren tells. "My wife is keeping an eye on them," she shrugs

"How old is he?" Adriana questions

"17. One more to get out and then Alice and I got the house to ourselves," she cheers, "I'm gonna leave you two, just wanted to tell the big old boss that I'm never gonna let Adriana live this down. He swears he's the best pool player at HQ."

"Is that so? Thank you for telling me," Adriana smirks

"Have a good night, you two," she says

"You too. Tell Ben we said Happy Birthday," I say before she can walk off.

"She was definitely tipsy," Adriana mumbles

"Definitely. Her wife is sober, she doesn't drink, so she's got it handled. Plus we're all off duty tonight and tomorrow," I say

"ok, good," she says as she sets back up the balls

"You think you can make a come back, Mr. Carvelli?"

_______________

"Top Gun. 1986, I was 9."

"I was, 1. Plus I was more of a cartoon person, but Tom is attractive."

"No he's not," I shake my head

"Yeah he is. The man is on the edge of being 60 and look at him. He's married and divorced too much," Adriana shakes her head

After leaving the arcade we both agreed that a coffee stop was the best choice. I'm having a great time and I don't want this night to end. We sit in my car in the Tim Hortons parking lot, talking.

"He's not," I shake my head

"Just a little," she reasons

"Not as attractive as me though," I say

"He's definitely up there, with with the rest. but you're my number 1," she says surly

"so who am I in competition with?" I question

"Young Rob Lowe, Johnny Depp, RDJ, young LL Cool J, Ronnie DeVoe, Blair Underwood, Young Rider Strong, Usher, John Stamos-"

"Ok, I get it. But at least I still look 30 except with grey hairs," I say before taking a sip of my coffee.

"You're right. Your grey hairs are kind of sexy," her hand comes up and runs through my hair.

I turn to full face her and see her eyes following her hand. I keep my eyes on her brown ones. They're bright even if we're in dark.

"Sei bella," I whisper

"Italian and French. Trying to seduce me?" her eyes fall to mine.

"Oh please. I wouldn't dress like this to seduce you. I have a shirt on," I roll my eyes

"You think you can seduce me shirtless? The chain is good enough," she taps my chest

"You like the chain? I've had it since I was a teenager... I'm never taking it off now," I mumble

"Why? Because you know that women like it?"

"No. Because you like it," I mumble. My eyes fall to her lips, so I ask, "Can I... Can I kiss you?"

"yes," she pulls me and I meet the softest lips in the world.

Her hand falls to the back of my neck to deepen the kiss. Our tongues clash and on command we start to laugh. I pull away quickly, my face turning bright red.

"What?" Adriana asks

"I feel like a teen. I've got a boner from a kiss. God women you're gonna kill me,"

_______________

"It's not gonna go down is it?"

"Now that I've gotten a taste of those lips, probably not."

"Want help?"

I smirk, looking down at Adriana. "No, Chérie. Not yet. Soon though. I just have to make sure you're ready." I hold her face in my hands. Her face so smooth.

We're standing outside her front door. I don't want to let her go. I'm so attached to her. To her voice, her laugh, her smile, her scent.

"For?"

"My Italian side, bellissima," I say

"And that's supposed to be intimidating?" she questions

I kiss her forehead and chuckle, "Big time,"
