Noel's Point Of View

Today is one of those days where I just want to crawl in a hole and die. Aunt Cathy is out with a couple of friends, who knew she had friends or even a social life?

I changed into a tee and some shorts. I slipped on a pair of sandals and walked downstairs and outside. I sat on the porch swing that one of Aunt Cathy's friends given her for a present of some sort, probably to be nice or something.

I swung back and forth. Feeling as if I'm on the ride of a lifetime, but really I ain't going anywhere.

"Hey, stranger," I looked up and seen a boy, who seem familiar from awhile back. Calum, I think?

"Hey, uh.." I said.

He laughed. "Calum. I haven't seen you since that night at my house. You should come around more. It was pretty fun. I have to get going, I got band practice. I'll see you around?"

"You're in a band?" I asked.

He smirked. "Lauren or Luke never told you? I've noticed you've been with Luke for quite awhile."

"He never told me," I said. "I never asked him, anyway."

"Well, don't you want come by? Check it out? I think you'll have fun," He said, grinning.

I thought for a moment, then I agreed. I got inside Calum's car and he drove towards someone's house.

"Who's house is this?" I asked, looking at Calum.

"Michael's," He responded.

We parked in front of the curb of Michael's house. Calum helped me out of the car. He lead the way into the house and into the garage.

"Hey, guys," Calum said. "I decided to bring a friend with me."

The others looked up and waved. Luke smiled and walked towards me. He gave me a hug, a tight one actually. I noticed the other boys were watching, but they quickly looked away once they knew I caught them.

"What are you doing here?" He smiled. "Not that I'm complaining."

"Uh, just to see you play, I guess," I said, shrugging my shoulders.

"Good," He laughed and gave me another hug. He smiled and walked towards the others.

I sat on one of chairs that's near me. I watched as Luke tuned his guitar and watched as Ashton quietly tapped his drum sticks on the drum set. Michael and Calum seem to be in a deep conversation, just by looking at their facial expressions.

Ashton counted down by clapping his drum sticks against each other and they started playing a song. They seemed to really be in the music. They looked to be having a blast. Luke smiled when he looked at me while playing his guitar. After singing two more lines, the song is done.

"What'd you think?" Michael asked, looking at me.

"That.. was really good," I said.

They cheered and clapped each other's hands. They put away their instruments for later. Michael lead the way inside the house, leaving me and Luke alone in the garage.

"How have you been doing, Noel?" He asked.

"Uh, I've been better," I smiled.

He chuckled. "I had fun yesterday. It was nice talking to you."

"I could say the same," I said, chuckling a little bit.

He smiled. "I thought maybe us and the rest of the guys could go out tonight. Bowling, movies, and dinner?"

"Sure, why not?" I said. "I have fun with you."

He smiles and wraps me in a hug. I never realized how much his hugs comfort me or warm me. He has this type of embrace that I beg to have more of. I feel safe or maybe, alive?

"What are you thinking about?" He asked.

"I don't know," I said. "Maybe, how much I love your hugs."

He tightens his grip around my waist while I tighten my grip around his neck. He lets go before I do. I slowly unwrapped my arms from his neck. He smiled and grabbed my hand. He pulled me inside the house. I noticed the other guys are running away quickly, whispering profanities.

Fucking eavesdroppers.

Luke laughed as we walked, entering the living room where they sat on the couch, acting as if nothing happened.
