I'm happy Loki got us these seats close to the platform all the ladies are sitting at with the Queen and in the front row so I can see really close what happens in each competition. Loki has helped me by saying names of some of the competitors I don't know but I know I won't remember them all by the end of the day. Lady Sif rolls on the ground and does some cool trick with her sword making Fandral's sword go flying out of his hand. I gasp and lean forward in my seat.
Fandral turns to run for his sword and Lady Sif swings her leg tripping him. He falls hard on his belly and some dust makes a small cloud around him. Lady Sif gets on her feet fast and walks over to him breathing hard. He turns and she holds her sword at his neck with a huge smile on her face.
"I told you I would win this time," says Lady Sif.
Fandral laughs and smiles up at her and she helps him up. He grabs her wrist and holds it up.
"Lady Sif is our sword fighting champion!" yells Fandral.
I start clapping as hard as I can as I cheer with the rest of the people watching. I turn to the lady who is going to give her favor to the winner of this competition and I can't help but giggle.
"What is so amusing, Kyrie?" asks Loki.
I point with a finger, my hand in my lap, towards the lady who looks upset. Loki looks down but I can see his smile and he shakes his head.
"Laughing at someone else's misfortune is not very nice or ladylike, Kyrie. I like it."
"I can't help it. Her face was funny when she realized Fandral didn't win. I don't see why so many ladies think he's good looking though."
We watch as Lady Sif walks over to the lady and takes her light blue favor before tying it around her wrist. Everyone cheers again and Lady Sif waves with a smile. The lady moves and Lady Eydis takes her place on the chair.
"I have heard ladies fawn over him and my brother quite often. Maybe it is their blond hair," says Loki.
I frown. "Then I might be weird because I don't think either of them is cute."
"You might be too young. Do you think anybody is cute yet?" asks Loki.
"No. Oh. I see now. Good point. Still, I don't think I'll ever see them and think they're cute," I say.
"You say that now, Kyrie. You may change your mind later. And if you do, I will be there to remind you about this and tease you," says Loki.
I laugh and shake my head at him. I look around the seats that are in a big U around the spot where the people competing. I see the guy who keeps yelling what competition is next stand up.
"Ladies and gentlemen! It is time for the hammer throwing competition! Let's give our competitors a round of applause!"
I clap with everyone else as the guys come out and stand behind a hammer. Loki's brother Thor is the last one in line to come out. I can't help it as a laugh leaves me and I feel Loki lean in towards me.
"What is amusing to you this time, Kyrie?"
"He's making the same silly face that he was when he left on the hunt yesterday morning. The one Lady Sif was copying," I say right before I start laughing again.
Loki laughs with me. "I have seen that smug smile quite often as of late. Soon his head will not fit through the castle doorways."
I squish my hands to my mouth trying to calm down when Loki pushes my arm with his elbow. I look up at him and he moves his head in the direction of where the competitors came out. I look and see Lady Sif squishing her lips together like she's trying not to laugh. She suddenly looks at us and she starts laughing with us again. She turns and walks away bent over like she did before from laughing so hard.
