COMMENTARY
If you reached this part of the story then that means you've finished reading CTRL+C. Thank you!! [feel free to skip this.]
Writing 'The End' gives me the feels. This is the first time, I have officially finished writing a novel [a duology]. Thank you for reading, voting and commenting. I may not reply to your comments but that doesn't mean I don't read it and I don't appreciate it. I'm just shy [socially awkward] and I don't know what to say but I really am flattered and I do highly appreciate it.
If there are things that may appear confusing to you about the story, feel free to leave your queries in the comment section or simply dm me.
Since we reached the end of the story, let's talk more about it.
THE TITLE: CTRL + C
Maybe some of you are wondering that it was kind of odd to give this novel a title relating to a shortcut keyboard when the story [like literally] doesn't have anything to do with computers nor technology. It's not even a sci-fi genre. Well, there were countless of times when I thought of changing the title but then I changed my mind so I sticked with this one. I didn't want to give this story a title that would instantly give away what the story is all about [such as The Copycat, The Impostor, etc.]. I wanted to keep it a mystery [since it's a mystery genre]. I wanted the readers to fall into wonder what the story is about once they read the title ["CTRL+C? Hmm...?"] then, they will have to read the sypnosis. [You got baited, mate. lol]
MY WRITING JOURNEY
- I enjoyed writing each characters. Especially Yoondae though I hated her at first because she's stubborn, she's rude, ill-mannered and warfreak. But I love Yoondae now. [her character development went 📈📈📈]. I also enjoyed writing Hanna's character though she was a bit complicated to write [I can relate to her sometimes]. I also had a hard time writing because I had to give out clues about the killers while at the same time, I also had to make sure I wasn’t spoonfeeding you too much.
- I thought of this story when I was in the computer lab back when I was in shs. I was spamming the different keyboard shortcuts [ctrl + z, ctrl + y, ctrl + c, ctrl + v]. When I was spamming ctrl + c, I imagined a little scenario in my head. What if there was girl, she has a copycat, and that copycat is killing people, and then the blame all goes to her. Then voila! I had an idea. Then the other ideas kept coming [like a branch of trees] so I was able to built this plot.
- I spent 4 to 5 hours just to finish writing each chapters. [which has more than 4 thousand words]. Others might find this being obsessed with writing but for me, I wasn't just simply writing. I was busy creating my own world.
- It took me almost three years to finally finish this duology series. And within those years, there were a lot of times when I thought of dropping this novel. There were times when I couldn't find my writing voice, the ideas weren't really flowing. I had a lot of tough times, especially during this pandemic. I’ve always been doubting myself ever since [due to low self-esteem and confidence] but this time, it felt worse. So I needed to take a break. And then, once again, writing saved me.
So thank you for sticking with me until the very end.
Thank you for believing in me.
Every journey has its own destination and so here we are. I hope you have enjoyed reading as much as I have enjoyed writing this. I hope I'll see you again in my next stories.
