Chapter 9 - Steven Rogers

The Quinjet was getting to small. Rachel looked like she felt the same way. When the pilot started to land the plane, Rach and I both stood up and went to the back of the jet. The ramp was lowered to reveal a woman with red hair standing there to greet us.

"Nat!!" Rach screamed.

"Hey, girly, it's been awhile." the 'Nat' girl says.

"Agent Romanoff, Captain Rogers." Agent Coulson said.

"Ma'am?" I greet her.

"Hi." she says. "Coulson, they need you on the bridge. They are starting the face trace." Agent Romanoff says.

"See you there," Coulson says.

Agent Romanoff and Rach start to lead me to this 'bridge' place.

"There was quite the buzz around here, finding you in the ice." Romanoff says. "I thought Coulson was gonna swoon. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet?"

"Trading cards?" I ask.

"They're vintage, he's very proud." Romanoff says.

"Unfortunately, no. Our Quinjet ride was already awkward enough. Phil told poor Steve over here about the time he watched Steve sleep" Rach says, rolling her eyes. Natasha and Rachel shared a little bit of laughter. Rachel's laugh is so beautiful. I am snapped out of my thoughts by a lost looking man standing by another jet.

"Dr. Banner," I walk up to hand and shake his hand.

"Oh, yeah. Hi. They told me you were coming." He says.

"Word is you can find the cube." I say.

"Is that the only word on me?" Banner asks, even though he looks like it doesn't matter to him.

"Only word I care about." I say.

"Must be strange for you, all of this." Banner says.

"Well, this is actually kind of familiar." I reply.

"Hey Bruce." Rach says from behind me.

"Hi Rachel. I haven't seen you since the last time we were researching that Oscorp thing." He says.

"Haha, yeah. That was a fun one." She says in response. There was a pause. Then Rachel spoke up again.

"Gentlemen, you may wanna step inside in a minute. It's gonna get a little hard to breathe."

Dr. Banner and I go to the edge of the Helicarrier and look over.

"Is this a submarine?" I ask.

"Really?" Dr. Banner spoke up. "They want me in a submerged pressurized metal container?"

The propellers of the machine come out of the water and the Helicarrier starts to levitate. I just look around in awe as Banner smirks and Rachel just laughs.

"Oh, no," Banner says, "This is much worse."

"Guys, why don't we go inside?" Rachel says.

Bruce and I both agree with her and she has us follow her to the bridge. Once we get there I see Fury. I make my way over to him.

"Gentlemen, and Rachel," he says with a smile. I pull out my wallet and hand Fury the ten bucks I owe him, because, in fact, I was amazed.

"Doctor," Fury says, "thank you for coming."

"Thanks for asking nicely." Banner says, "So, uh... how long am I staying?"

"Once we get our hands on the Tesseract, you're in the clear." Fury says. After that I zoned out. I just started thinking about Rachel. How beautiful she looked when she was focus on something.

"Agent Stark, would you please show Captain Rogers to his room?" Fury asks. I look over at Rachel and she is smiling.

"Sure, let's go Captain." She says.
