The watch strikes to make it clear to her that it's 12, and the next day- December 8 has started.
Aash relaxes and sighs at herself.
How much more long did she have to wait?
December 8- she is 15 now. Happy birthday to me.
If she was like any other teenager who loved birthdays, which she was but not really interested anymore. She wanted to be 19- to be independent? To be free from parents? To live a life with friends?
No.
She wanted to express her love to someone at whose her eyes sparkle like stars, mood lifts up like a kid whose just got an ice cream and a smile appears without effort.
To someone, whom she had loved since the day she set eyes on him, someone around whom she forgets how to breathe and knees wobble in trying to walk properly.
Past three months, she had been seeing Noah Lee with many girls asking him out but he rejecting everyone of them politely.
She liked it but had asked him one day, out of curiosity, "Why don't you accept them?"
He looked at her and smiled. Oh god, his smile. That could stop a war. His smile is so different and cute. He should always keep smiling, she thinks and cringes to herself. How could a smile stop a war?
"Well because, I don't believe in all this",he says pointing between those girls and him.
What did he just say? As if seeing her confusion, he goes on,"Do you think they love me?"
What the hell is she supposed to answer with? Is she supposed to defend the girls? Or say,"oh no,it's great..you should wait until I turn 19 cause you see I'm not allowed dating until then".
But all she does is shake her head and shrug.
He sips his coffee,and says"Look in this cafeteria,there are like half of the school girls ,right?"
Aash nods.
"But I don't want anyone." He says and looks away.
"Oh,so u don't believe in love?"
"I don't know, I don't think it's like that, I don't believe in true love."
Aash smiles at him and says,"you will,when u met them."
He had whispered back "well then I hope she is someone beautiful like you."
And then before she could answer the remaining group starts coming at the table.
Aash smiles at the memory, she was sitting on the couch watching T.V but she was distracted by her thoughts.
And then someone broke from her thought too.
"BOO SISSSY, BACK TO EARTH!"
"Dammit, you dont have to shout. Mom-dad will wake up."
He looks confused and says in a very weird way-"but they are awake anyways,right?"
"Huh?"
"Yo what-? You forgot-?"
"I forgot?" Now, she's as confused as kids being confused at what Newton's law is.
He looks around the room and then at her. He's behaving weird. And then suddenly he shouts-"HAPPPPYYY BIRTHDAYYY SISSSYYY!! MY IDIOT IS 15!!"
Oh. He was scaring the shit out of me just to say this.
"Your idiot,hm..where?" she looks around.
He hits on her head and throws a gift box at her and beams,"I am the first one,am i not?"
She looks at the gift box. He encourages her to open it.
"Go on. Open it. You're gonna love it."
She opens it and takes out a handmade card. she looks at him and before she could say some sweet words, he says- "obviously not by me. I wouldn't ever waste my precious time on you."
Alright. Sweet. She keeps the card aside and takes out a necklace with an "Idiot" pendant.
She look at him who is trying his best to stop his laugh and then seeing her reaction, he bursts into a fit laugh.
She throws the box on him and says,"This was the best gift ever,thankyou!"
I was about to storm out when he stops laughing and shouts back- "JUST REMEMBER! PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU DONT NEED TO SHOW BY GIFTS! IT'S BY THEIR ACTS AND I LOVE YOU,IDIOT"
I look at him and he smirks in return. She looks at him and whispers, "that was deep."
He looks at her and goes to her,"hey-you alright? You dont like the gift?" He sounds panicked and worried now, didn't she like the gift? Its weird but its even weirder when you give you sister too much love, isn't it?
She just sighs in replies and says,"wish I was 19,and not 15 right now."
He scans her body like Dumbledore did to Harry, trying to search the wrong thing in her body and finally says, "Who is this guy anyways? That you don't even like my gift."
She looks away. "I love your gift, kay?"
She looks at the chain and says, " its weird you could think of idiot only but its special", she smiles and then smirks-"SPECIAL CUZ AN IDIOT GAVE ME!!"
They both laugh and out of the blue, he holds her hand and says firmly- "I dont want you hurt,Aash. Your my only sister and if any guy even touches you- I'm gonna kill him. Believe me,my little sister- love hurts. It's all about pain."
Aash looks at him, "It hurts anyways."
He sits on the ground from the couch and looks away from her. It's not possible for him to see her in pain but he doesn't want her to be in love either-not until 19 at least. She needs to be mature enough first.
"You'd be more hurt, later on.", he finally says breaking the silence.
"Maybe it won't? I love him,Ady..love him..not some usual crush-I love him."
"Who?"
"Noah."
He looks at her and smirks, "Approved. Officially allowed to date him, he's my football buddy-but I wonder if he'll like to kiss an idiot like you."
Her shock turns to mega shock. "WAIT REALLY? I CAN DATE HIM?"
"Who is my daughter dating?", dad's voice comes from the opposite.
