I love the Saturday evenings . Not because of the party and hangouts. They have a nostalgic feelings to them which takes me back to the time when my first priority used to be chocolates and my father's mysterious stories about multiverse . These were the evenings which led us together - just the five of us. The evenings when my father would not bother to check his watch.
The fact that this present time is totally different makes me upset but Evan's annoying face is enough for distraction.

But this Saturday is a bit different without him. It has been a week since the incident had happened and I can see how much Evan has changed since that day.

He talks less.

Sleeps less.

He doesn't whine like a kid anymore.

Doesn't apply his brutal tactics to wake me up in the morning which I'm thankful for but I miss the old Evan, the one who constantly makes fun of Klaus Mikaelson while watching vampires diaries.

I didn't even get to see his face for the past 3 days. I know he is pushing himself hard for the upcoming match but there is something more.

I can feel the stares students are giving me after the incident. Their chatters are always echoing in my brain and I'm sure Evan is suffering more than me.

3 days ago, the last time when I saw him lying on the couch exhausted, I remember asking him to have some talk with me in his spare time. He said, " Cheeky, I need to prove them that I'm also proficient at leading a team and that I'm not a greedy liar. You trust me right sis ?" He was going off his head. The desperation in his eyes started to make me scared. Scared of the unknown boundary he can cross to prove his innocence.

I remember the way he was shaking and on the verge of breaking down infront of me. But he controlled himself and went upstairs. From then I haven't seen him .

Granny says he comes home late at midnight, all drenched in sweat and goes for practice early in the morning. I can't believe someone can drastically change in one night.

I knew what I have to do . I invited Ryan to have a conversation, though I didn't tell him about the topic of our conversation because I know he will also keep Evan's problems as secret and dismiss our meeting.

My shifts are off on Saturdays and Sundays so I'm free from 6:00 pm onwards. That's why I chose this Saturday evening .

The cold evening is cloudless and timeless.

The air is redolent of burned popcorns.

I take a seat at one of the benches in Mary park. I look up at the half-smiling moon and the only star close to it. Evan used to say that he is the moon and I'm the closest star beside the moon. I smiled at the memory.

"Who are you smiling at ?" Ryan's voice startled me. He takes a seat besides me.

"Damn Ryan ! You scared me ..... and you're late." I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Only umm.... 5 minutes late." He showed me his watch and I jerked it away.

"So what do you want to talk with me Cheeky ?"

"Don't call me by that nickname. I hate it."

"But why ? Evan calls you by that name then why not I ?"

"You know he always wants to get on my nerves. That's why he purposely calls me by this gross name. So tell me Ryan. Were you with Evan before coming here ?"

"Ahh no ! I was fixing our car engine with my dad, but Evan should be at home now, right ?"

"He hasn't shown up for past 2 days. Seems busy in practice." I sighed heavily. Evan, what has happened to you ?
