Chapter 7 - Double Trouble

He sat on a bench and checked the invidual scores and grades. He was already so nervous about the parent teacher meet the coming week and now he had all the more reason to be scared.

The scores though were not very surprising. He was already expecting that. He knew he didn’t do quite well in these tests because of the distraction. And even now, Kent was more worried about his results. Did Sean pass?

Kent was lost in his thoughts when suddenly he heard someone running in the corridor. This side of the school was usualyy empty at these hours on a Saturday. Kent frowned at the direction of the sound. Someone was running fast and that person was heading this way.

Kent stood up from the bench and had just taken a step in that direction when suddenly a figure bursted into the room and collided with Kent.

“ What the hell?”

“ Owww!”

Kent was jerked back but just in time he balanced himself to prevent himself from falling. Just in time to know that it was Sean who had bumped straight into him and was now lying on the floor right in front of him.
Kent frowned in confusion not understanding what just happened.

He noticed Sean first looking at him in surprise and then with relief. Sean stood up from the ground rubbling his butt and checked for someone behind him. He was breathing so hard that he couldn’t even speak for a minute.

Sean kept on looking behind him which assured Kent that probably someone was chasing Sean. Sean tried to spreak but only air came out. Kent rolled his eyes at him and gave him his water bottle.

“ Oh thank God! Thank God! Thank God its you Stevens. I am saved.”, Sean kept on rambling as he drank.

“ What happened now?”, Kent asked although he already knew the answer to it. He could hear another set of footsteps running this way. Although they were of more than one person. Kent turned to look at the door as he heard the footsteps approaching them. He could feel Sean lurking behind him.
“ I am in serious trouble man. And you are the angel who’ll save me.”, Sean breathed out the words when Kent finally saw what ‘ trouble’ Sean was talking about.

Kent clenched his teeth cussing the moment when he had agreed with Sean.

“ Evans, you are breaking every traffic rule and I’ll be the one to get a ticket.”, Kent shouted at Sean who had been speed driving on the streets.

“ Whoa! This is bloody awesome!”, Sean shouted as he dodged a few cars driving straight through the traffic.

“ Chill out man! This is the most fun you are ever going to get. Tell me you are not enjoying this ride.” Sean grinned wildly as he took on a sharp cut and turned a left.

Kent’s eyes widened at him. “ If you get an inch of a scratch on my car, I swear I am gonna murder you.” He threatened Sean for the 10th time tonight.

“ Aww, this sucks.”, Sean slowed their car as they neared a red light. Kent breathed in and rested back in his seat. They stopped in between the cars waiting for the light to turn green.

“ Get out of my car. I am driving it now.” Kent shouted at Sean.

“ What? You can’t do this. You can’t go back on your words.”

“ The hell I can! Now just get your ass out of my car!”, Kent yelled at him again.

Before Sean could argue with him, someone from his side whistled at him. “ Woohoo! Would you look at that.” Sean turned around and saw a bunch of teenagers in bikes snickering at them.
