Rouge. You smiled, there was no denying that you held affection for this bat. You arrived at a suburb. Rouge suddenly dropped you five feet from the ground, you weren't ready. "Ufff... oww, Rouge what was that for?" It didn't actually hurt but was Rouge mad at you? She sighs expressing annoyance then smirks and helps you up. "That was for encouraging them." "Well I don't know how else to react to reporters" you said defensively with a tiny scowl.  "Well next time you'll know" She gives you a sideways smile. She turns to you completely as your scowl has turned to features of a child being deprived of a present on Christmas. "Look honey I didn't mean it. You couldn't have known." She sounds worried. "It's not that... the cake was left behind..." You looked at your feet as your ears drooped from the thought of the soft cloud like stuff on the top of the pastry and missing out on the reddest of strawberries you have ever seen. Rouge's smile broadened, "Lucky for you I know a gal who bakes the best cakes in the whole World." "Really?" You open your eyes wide. They simmered as you looked at her as if she was angel and tackled her with a tight embrace. You rubbed your cheek against hers. "I indebt to you!" "Alright alright cool it. It's right over there." She pointed to a wonderfully kept mansion a mile away that looked like it came out one of your movies. You received a scoff from her as you picked her up bridal style and revealed to her what it meant to be a perfect being. You bounded the gates in no time. She said a bit out of breath, "With that sort of record time you even give Sonic a run for his money." You happily sighed, "Thanks."

Rouge promptly knocked on the large wooden doors. It was opened by a tall thin man with round glasses. "Why hello Miss Rouge it's a pleasure to see you again and hello Miss..." Rouge interjected "(y/n)" "Oh Miss (y/n), I assure you it's a pleasure." He led you in. High ceilings, grand stairways, and a chandelier greets people in the reception. Large pastel paintings of warm scenery were lined along the walls with a lovely couple and what appears to be their young son. They were a lovely family, a merry family that hopped out of a fairy tale. You were led into a large food preparation area. Behind the counter was a rather large woman keeping busy with food preparations. Her hands were covered in dough and the air wafts of caramelized sugar. "Rouge, it's been a long time since I've seen you dearie. You came just in time, I was in the middle of making my famous apple pie" She paused as she acknowledge your presence. She can move much faster than her size lets on, she was on you and smothering your cheeks in nanoseconds. "Oh~ Where'd you find this pocket of sunshine?" she gushed. "H-Hello ma'am" You blushed and curtsied. "Oh how shy! I know exactly what you need to feel at home! A piece of my famous pie!" "I would appreciate that very much ma'am." You said gleefully, giving her your own special smile. You surprised by Rogue leaning over to you "Ella is a nice gal but don't get on her bad side, you'll be sorry." "I'll keep that in mind" you whisper back. Just then you heard a small child's voice coming from the upstairs, "Mmm I can smell Ella is making pie." He comes bouncing down the stairs. He stops in his tracks when he sees you and blushes, "Umm hello... I don't believe we've met before." He breaks into a smile and continues. "I'm Christopher Thorndyke but my friends call me Chris." You smile back at him "It's a pleasure to meet you Chris. My name is (y/n). I'm a friend of Rogue." "Any friend of Rouge is a friend of mine. That is, when Rouge wants to be friendly with me," his laughter indicates that he's embarrassed. You wonder why he would make such a statement about Rouge? Glancing at Rouge she simply shrugs, "I've done things." "Well since we're all waiting for Ella's pie let me show you around!"

Chris was a very enthusiastic tour guide. His home held an ambiance of pristine luxury but it had hints of light playfulness. "That's my mom, she's an actor and that's my dad, he's a director," He was pointing at the portrait you spotted earlier. "Well your mother may be an actor but I believe the star of this picture is you Chris." "Geez thanks." You warmed up to the child, he was particularly adorable when he's bashful. Most rooms appeared empty but some held treasures like the library and a theater room! Chris particularly excited about showing you something outside.  Outback there was spacious garden, immediately outside the plane glass doors was pools of water held within a concrete mold. "Here's the pools!" Chris announced loudly. A whimper escaped your lips as a shiver ran down your spine at the sight of these pools. Your hands automatically locked into tight fists at your sides. "Must be a hedgehog thing," Rouge smirked trying to keep down her amusement. "Hey don't be scared, if you fall in I'll go in and save you," Chris said with a reassuring smile. You attempt to relax your muscles, "You're both wrong, I do not fear something as simple as water." Rouge pulls you away by the waist, "Whatever you say honey, it'll be our little secret." "There is no secret. Now I do believe Ella is calling," you say stubbornly regaining some dignity. Right on cue Ella calls "Chris, Rouge, (y/n) the pie is ready! Get it while it's still warm!" You returned to the food preparation area and took seats around the counter. Ella was pulling out utensils and plates.
