His heart was beating so fast with his mind coming up with every possible way tonight could go. Loki knew that his mother would except Astrid with open arms. But Odin on the other hand...
The maid knocked on Loki's door alerting him that dinner was ready. He picked up little Astrid who was playing with snowflakes falling from a tiny cloud Loki made for her. Loki told Astrid "be a good girl, I don't know what my family will think of you." She just smiled and looked around. Guards and maids gave Loki confused looks as they walked passed. Loki took a deep breath before opening the doors into the dinning room.
No one looked up a Loki, they just continued there conversations. Until Astrid let out a little squeal. Everyone looked up to were Loki and Astrid were sitting. Odin had to do a double take. Frigga gently asked, "Loki, who's child is that?" Loki didn't know how to answer, but without thinking he said, "She is mine." He shocked himself. Odin then added to the conversation, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE IS YOURS!?" Odin's yelling scared Astrid, so she started crying. Loki cradled her and lightly bounced her in hopes she would calm down. Loki answered Odin by saying, "I found her in the same room the fight was in today. She was left to die so I took her in."
Thor said, "Loki, you don't know how to care for child, nor do you have the supplies to do so, do you even know anything about her?" Frigga called in some maids and told them, "Go in to town and purchase stuff for the baby." Odin Just looked at his wife in confusion while everyone ate there food. Thor broke the silence by asking, "How will you feed her today? We don't know her age so we don't know if she needs solid food, baby food, or a bottle." Frigga suggested that Loki should go to the healers to find out if she is healthy and to find out her age. Odin finally asked, "What is the name of the child?" Loki told everyone her name and then left the dinning room, tired of all their questions.
Loki started talking to Astrid; "Well Astrid, It seems mother and Thor like you, I'm not sure about Odin. But lets go find out how old you are!"
After what felt like walking forever they reached the healing room, and told them the situation, Loki took off her dress and put her into a dark green onesie. He put her down on a table and the healers got to work. The healer said she was healthy outside of a few bruises. Loki asked a healer if they can find out her age. They got back to work and said "She is 3 months." Loki thanked them and lifted Astrid off the table and walked back to his room. He knew he had his hands full.
