Looking up at the starry sky at the peak of the mountains, you couldn't help but be allured by the view. Like moon-dust scatter across the sky, it formed a river of stars atop a velvet cloak. Alike an endless ocean, it was an ethereal sight that stretched far beyond the oceans of Inazuma.

Closing your eyes, you let yourself be submerged in your thoughts. The feeling of the soft grass, breeze, and the sound of the water washing on the soar beneath you, gave a sense of peace to your tired body. A warm feeling filled your chest as you reminisce about the pass, forgetting the bitter memories, a soft smile appeared on your lips.

"[name]?" Your heart skipped a beat as a voice called you from behind. "Scaramouche, What are you doing here?" You looked back, and with curious eyes meeting his, he sat down next to you with a smile.

"I couldn't find you in the city, so I went to look for you" Scaramouche slightly mumbled the last part. You couldn't help but chuckle at his words, "awe, you were worried about me?" You teased to which he became flushed in response. His cheeks were a light red and he grit his teeth, "ha! why should I be worried for someone like you?!" Scaramouche quickly denied your claims in a panic.

His reaction made you laugh all the more, but as you quiet down, you looked up at the starry sky once more.

"Ooo! Scaramouche, look over there!" Your voice rises in excitement as you point up. "The moon! Look at it. It's beautiful, isn't it?" Your eyes beamed with joy. But, as you admired the night sky, Scaramouche could only find himself gazing at you.

It appears that even a puppet can fall in love.

"Yes... the moon really is." He said, despite haven't looked up at it.

"You know, Ayaka told me there was going to be a meteor shower today. I had her bring me out here since I knew I couldn't miss out on such an opportunity! Do you think my wish will come true if I wish on a shooting star?" You asked, looking at Scaramouche with eyes sparkling like a child.

"Pfft, Of course not" he flicked your forehead along with a soft chuckle. Oh how he adored your smile.

"You humans are too naive. What makes you think a falling rock will grant you anything?" Scaramouche scoffed, making you pout as if you'd been offended. "Hey, you never know! Maybe some wishes don't come true, but not all of them. Just let me have some faith, will ya." You slightly whispered the last part as you looked away.

But as you did. In the corner of your eye, you catch a glimpse of a star shot by. Quickly turning your head towards the direction, your eyes widened to see a shower of shooting-stars. "Oh! it's starting" you said before everything quickly becoming silent.

You both watch as numerous shooting stars streak through the night sky. Up in the mountains, they were more clear and all the more beautiful. Your eyes were drawn in by the celestial event, and alike fireworks, you felt a similar spark of excitement as you watched. Just like back then.

However, Scaramouche had seen this sight multiple times in the past.

But, Though it has been a while-

he glanced over you who was captivated by the starry sky with a warm smile upon your face.

-Perhaps seeing this with you, made the experience more... enjoyable.

"What are going to wish for?" You asked, glancing at Scaramouche to notice he had already been gazing at you. Scaramouche flinched and immediately looked away to avoid being caught. "What? No. I have nothing to wish for." He said with a stern tone. "Haha, come on. Everyone has at least one wish." You stated, leaning closer to peek at his expression.

Scaramouche refused to reply. Thus, you repeated your question. "So, What are you wishing for?" You glanced at a passing star then back at him.

"Who knows." He responded as he avoided eye contact.

"Oh, Come on!" you sat back, and sulked to which Scaramouche grinned. "What are YOU wishing for?" He flipped the question, slightly surprising you."Hm..." you placed your finger under your chin and smirked. "Maybe to be your bride?" You tried to tease him.

'...To be your bride.' An old question you'd often ask. How nostalgic.

"Your still at that? How old are you now." Scaramouche laughed, and you did as well, despite your eyes being coated with a hint of sadness. "I knew you'd say that! It's a no as always..." you muttered.

"When did I say no?"

In that moment, you were completely caught off guard. Looking at Scaramouche, your expression was flustered and your eyes were slightly widened. "What?-" You asked, confused. "—What do you mean by that?"

. . .

As the little girl gets distracted by the fireworks. Kunikizushi takes the chance to retrieve his ema on the ground. Bending his small legs, he crouched down on the ground. His small yet soft hands carefully picked up his ema along with yours. However, as he did. Kunikizushi unintentionally saw what you wrote.

And he couldn't help but smile at your wish.

"I wish to become friends with purple hair boy!" - [name]

Before you knew it as you patiently waited for his respond.

Scaramouche did not use words to reply... instead grabbed the back of your hair, and pulled you closer into a tender kiss. His soft lips pressed against yours, and slightly pushing your head back in the process. The short yet delicate moment felt as if time itself had slowed down.

And As he shared this moment with you, nothing else mattered to Scaramouche but to stay by your side.

To be the one to make you happy, and to be the one who will save you...

"I wish to know more about this mortal." - Kunikizushi
