9. In the unpublished prologue, Ruby was supposed to head to Artemisia, a matriarchal city-state, to become an official Artemisian huntress. The occupation has many advantageous benefits but the downside is that the jobs are more dangerous. Nevertheless, if the two Lightborn knights didn't find her in time, then Ruby would never meet Dyrroth and she would be living as a glorified huntress for the rest of her life.
10. Queen Alice is deathless meaning she has erased her name from Hela's book making her gain immortality by doing so.
11. The novel is set in a world where different pantheons exist. The most generally acknowledged gods are from the Norse mythology where the children of Loki are frequently featured namely Fenrir, Jormungand, and Hela. Egyptian mythology is also featured in the form of Anubis which the author depicted as the lover of Hela. Hela was also shown to be friends with Persephone, the goddess of the Greek Underworld, and Ereshkigal, the goddess of Mesopotamian Underworld.
Meanwhile, the gods of Martis' people are based on Indian Mythology. It was stated that Lady Shura, Martis' sister is a priestess in the temple of the Goddess Parvati.
The Abyss has its own god too called Cyd, a being of pure chaos, darkness, and corruption. Archdemons are the most powerful class of demons in the Abyss and they are worshipped as gods by lower demons. It is said that they could terraform the Abyss at will and control the will of the demons under them. There used to be 8 achdemons but they either died or ascended to other realms.
More Trivias: Ruby worships the Greek goddesses Artemis and Athena as well as Morrigan the Celtic Goddess of War and death. Dyrroth offers his slain enemies to Cyd.
12. Based on Abyssal culture, Ruby and Dyrroth are basically married. They had performed the Ceremony of 13 Darkness. According to Dyrroth, "it's is a spousal ritual done by sleeping on the same bed, eating the same food, and drinking the same water for 13 moonless nights that would bind their fate." However, the ritual won't be official unless the male demon marks his spouse by consummating their union meaning they need have s*x.
13. Both the Abyss and Devas are polygamous meaning it's okay in their culture to have multiple spouses for both men and women. It was not yet revealed in the novel but Alice has more than 50 lovers. Good for you vampire queen.
14. It was implied that Ruby was merely adopted by her grandparents. As an infant, she was saved by her attendants from Loki's attack on their home. He sent Fenrir to kill her as revenge against her mother, Althreya, for not reciprocating his feeling after all his efforts to win her heart. When Fenrir found Rubaby, he felt a strong bond with her and decided not to follow his father's order. He grabbed her basket and gave her to an old married couple in the Dark Forest to at least make it appear that he got rid of her.
15. Ruby's adopted grandmother was a teacher and governess in the Empire before meeting her adopted grandfather. Ruby has shown proficiency in mathematics, science, and communication and that's because her grandma taught her a lot of things including dancing, singing, and playing various instruments. Meanwhile, her grandfather was a professional hunter who taught her how to use the scythe. Her grandparents were respected elders in their village and they were more well off than the others.
16. Ruby's true parents are Gilgamesh Alastair Stormborn and Stellaris Althreya Stormborn, Lord and Lady of the Stormborn hold. Ruby is a duchess.
Her parents are based on Fate Grand Order characters Altria Pendragon and Caster Gilgamesh.
17. A lot of the primary characters have weapons with names.
Dyrroth's weapons are called Abysm Relics or Abysmal Strikers. (from ML wiki)
Martis' double swords are called Ashura teeth.
Ruby's scythe forged by Terizla is called Ferðastjarna (fer-dyas-tyar-na) meaning Wandering Star because it was made from skyiron, most commonly known as meteor metal. A retractable chain is also magically hidden within the scythe called Gleipnir II. Gleipnir was originally the name of the ribbon that bound Fenrir. It was dwarf-forged and unbreakable.
Sorca's spear is named Fury.
Fenrir's scythe is called Eternal Winter.
18. The novel featured songs, quotes, and inspiration from other fiction or novels such as Game of Thrones, Steven Universe, Little Prince, Magnus Chase, 365 Days, Little Red Riding Hood, and Alice in Wonderland.
The battle scenes which are vibrantly described were all inspired by fight scenes from Fate Stay Night, Fate Grand Order, and other action anime.
The war scenes and strategies were inspired by 300, Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, and other Historical war movies.
19. Ruby have had several titles or attachments to her names and the list are as follows:
Queen of Lifesteal
Huntress of the Dark Forest
Harbinger of Wolf
Fenrir's Maiden
Wolf Queen
Mother Of Wolves
20. Chapter 37 of the book entitled Demon's Mark, where Ruby and Dyrroth finally did the deed in Hela's realm, has 4 times more reads than the previous chapter meaning that some of you reread it again and again. 🤣🤣🤣
