Ichika stood in the infirmary next to Shinso, waiting for other kids to be healed.
Both were silent for a while, when Ichika decided to speak up. "You... you fought well," she smiled at him. "I'll admit, I was having trouble keeping up. How does your Quirk work?"
"Tell me how yours works first. You said yours is also mind control, right?" Shinso looked down at her, and she could feel his anger.
"Yeah, but only on people with harmful thoughts. It works on anger and perversion, and some other things I'm not exactly sure of. If I sing, it works, so if I lose my voice it's a no go. I also lose my hold if my voice cracks."
"You're giving a lot of information to someone you could potentially end up fighting again," Shinso pointed out to her.
"Yeah, but I don't mind. Your quirk is response-based, right?" Ichika took a step forward, realizing they were close to Recovery Girl. He probably wouldn't talk to her after this, so she had to be sure to make every question count.
"If you're just trying to get information to use against me--" Shinso started, but was cut off by Ichika.
"No, no that's not what I'm doing!" she said quickly, still holding a rag to her nose. "I'm just curious. It's not everyday I get to meet so many people with powerful Quirks. Anyway, you're like me. We have to be in peak physical condition so we can keep up. Hey, we should train together sometime! You and I don't have power Quirks, so it would be perfect!"
"I have a mind control Quirk. I don't need to be in good shape when I can make other people do the work for me," Shinto scoffed and turned away, stepping forward to be healed.
Ichika realized she had pushed a few wrong buttons and sighed.
As soon as she was healed, she left to get some food.
"Hey, pipsqueak!" she heard Bakugo call out. Turning around, she smiled at him.
"Why the hell did you have to outshine me?!" He shouted, storming over, "All they're talking about is you and that other dumbass getting a tie!"
Ichika laughed, shaking her head. "Kacchan, we just did what we had to do to win. Do you wanna go get some food? I'll pay."
"I don't need you to pay for me!" Bakugo shouted, glaring at her.
"Suit yourself," she shrugged, walking to a stand that had Yakitori on the menu. "Five sticks of Yakitori for me. Kacchan, what do you want?"
"Gimme the spiciest ramen you got," Bakugo said, crossing his arms. He was still fuming, glaring at the cashier as he ordered.
Ichika felt something from the cashier; a negative thought of some sort. A quick look in their eyes told her it was fear.
"That--" the cashier cleared her throat, glancing nervously at Bakugo. "That'll be 1,528 yen."
Ichika pulled out her wallet and handed her the money before Bakugo could even get his wallet out.
"Oi!" he barked, "I told you I didn't need you paying for me!"
"I've already paid." Ichika gave him a cheeky smile, putting her wallet away. "What are you going to do, throw the food away?"
Bakugo grumbled angrily and stood off to the side with her, waiting on their food. It was only a few minutes before they were sitting at a table chowing down.
"Hey! Mind if we join you?" Kirishima brought a plate of food over.
"Whatever! Sit where you want, I don't care!" Bakugo barked.
