Ok, here we go. Big the Cat, underrated character. Okay, here goes.

Why is he hated:
He's not the coolest character, as well as not the smartest, he's unbearable, and I remember that the first voice actor said that he hated him so much, he quitted voicing him. Okay, rewrite:

Backstory:
River Lake is a black and white half-cat fisherman who has spent most of his life living in Mystic Ruins due to his workaholic parents struggling to get a proper home. Despite not liking the hustles and bustles of the outside world, he willingly goes out every now and again to be productive, go to school, sell the fishes his family catches, go to libraries and so on.

When he was a kitten, his family struggled to give him everything he needed, except attention, something which he understands and does what he can to help. Because of not being able to get toys he'd sometimes asked for his parents, he quickly learned to be thankful for what he had and was someone who appreciated the simple things in life like frogs and such, spending his time catching frogs, while learning to swim in one of the many river streams at the place.

When he got older, his mother got an illness that affected her skin, eyes and nose, forcing him to have a routine to leave school early to help his family's care by fishing in the rich lake of Mystic Ruins, in which he eventually settled as his home with a frog he met in his fishing trips, as he eventually learned that his mother's illness was leprosy, caused by a fish virus and was fortunately curable.

When he was 18, he joined the Robolympics in hopes to sell the medal he earned to get money for the medicine, earning a bronze medal in the swimming section. Unfortunately he was unable to sell his medal, so he went back home and apologized to his parents for not being able to get what his mother needed. But they brushed it off and told him that they were proud of him for having a heart of gold, and the father gave him his lucky belt, which he reveals it's an item for a Ring Charm, and explaining about his role as the hero Big the Cat before Chaos Control consumed the family.

Personality:
River is a calm and caring half-cat who is always willing to help a friend in any way he can. He is also very hardworking, despite being a laid back, and always puts his loved ones before anything else.
He acknowledges that he is not the brightest bulb, being a slow thinker, despite being intelligent to an extent, showing when he is able to tell which fish is poisonous and which is not, as well as knowing the name and description of a lot of fish types, further showing that he's very dedicated to his work as a fisherman.

He is also very friendly and giddy towards visitors who come to visit Mystic Ruins, being more than happy to welcome them and give them tours to the jungle.
He is also extremely strong, and will always use his strength to defend his friends and loved ones, and will never fight out of sheer anger.

Potential:
I thought for a bit what would be his potential, and I came up with this:
He will be helpful on places that have water, thanks to his swimming and his ability to visualize underwater from his rod's perspective, thanks to a shard of the blue Emerald of Cosmos.
I've also decided to give him the knowledge of underwater creatures to help the Freedom Fighters from eating the wrong fish to knowing if it's harmful or not, as well as capturing it to prevent it from harming anyone else, as seen as he was able to calm a panicked Sonic, Shadow and Silver after they encountered a giant spider crab.

Design:
Designing River was kinda difficult, but I've decided to see concept artwork and made my decision:
River will be a black and white chubby half-cat with a orange fisher jacket under his white shirt, black pants and eventually, his father's "lucky belt", his ring charm accessory. For his physical appearance, I thought of mixing up these images for a bit. The finalized design will be shown when I get to his episode.

For when he transforms into Big, it'll be like everybody else's: he will remain the same, but with some extras from Skyline and World of Shining Stars (WOSS).

A/N: Finally! Honestly it took me forever to finish this, hence find a suitable backstory for him to explain why he's the person he is nowadays. But I was able to finish, I hope you like it. This is EnderCatAGZ, aka Mystery the Cat, signing up. Bye bye 😁😁😁
