For the past two days, Harry has distanced himself from us. He hasn't eaten dinner with us at all. Sometimes he orders pizza when my mom has worked her butt off cooking a full course meal. Why is she trying so hard to please him? I already gave up the first day he was here.
We were currently chowing down on my mom's homemade tacos. David said that it was Harry's favorite ever since he was a little boy. I bet young Harry was so cute. Ugh, why am I thinking like this? I'm supposed to hate him. My mom interrupted me out of my thoughts.
"Honey, could you take Harry his plate upstairs?" She asked.
Was she serious right now? No way in hell was I taking that rude, obnoxious, idiot his food like I was his servant and he was king almighty. Harry can kiss my...
"Anna, now Missy." My mother said with a stern look on her face.
I rolled my eyes. Why does he get special treatment? I grabbed the tray of tacos and made my way up the steps.
When I reached Harry's door all I could hear was loud music blaring from his speakers. It sounded like a Rolling Stones concert in there. I knocked as loud as I could. I heard the music go down and the door suddenly swings open.
The smell of men's cologne mixed with boy and man took over my nostrils. I look up to find a shirtless Harry in front of me.
Mother of God he was hot.
"Well, aren't you gonna say something?" He asked with an annoyed expression on his face as he stood in the doorway.
"I uh, um brought you some food, tacos your favorite."
I held the plate out to him. He looked at me surprised.
"How did you know I liked tacos." He questioned
"Y-your umm dad, David said so." I stammered. I could barely talk. I think Harry noticed my stuttering.
"Why are you stuttering? You're so timid."
I stayed silent.
"Well anyway, I already ate so keep your tacos, they are probably not that good anyway." He dismissed.
What did he just say?
You can insult me all you want but when it comes to my mom that's where I draw the line.
"Ummm excuse me but I don't like your attitude," I said.
"So?" He shrugged.
"So you don't have to be so rude. My mom works her butt off to try and please you and you don't even say thank you. I don't know what I did to you and I don't care if you insult me but you will not insult my mom and her cooking because we are trying our best!"
Harry stood still taken aback by my response. "You need to grow up and stop being such an ass!"
He stayed silent.
Well, say something!" I demanded.
Look who's quiet now.
He snatched the tray from my hand and slammed the door in my face. Why do I even try with him? I ran back downstairs to the kitchen table. Both David and mom looked at me.
"So honey what did he say?" My mom questioned. I could see that my mom really wanted Harry's approval. "He said thanks." I lied.
I had to lie to my mom I didn't like seeing her like this. She clapped her hands with joy and continued eating. I hope Harry realized how wrong he was.
I can't believe she talked to me like that. He words are stuck in my head repeating itself.
"You need to grow up."
I know what I did was out of line. When I walked into the house it finally hit me that my life would change forever. I guess I kind of just lost it.
Maybe I was wrong, they are only trying to help me. Anna is so pretty though. Her big brown eyes and long wavy brown hair. I love how she's cute but fiery at the same time. I always had a thing for short girls.
I can't think like this she's my step sister. She probably hates me anyway. I gotta make this right. Maybe tomorrow could be a better day. For now, I gotta get some sleep. I reached over and placed the empty tray on the nightstand I'll take it down in the morning.
I turned off my lamp and drifted to sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about Anna.
