Chapter Fourty Six

Demi walked in, a small bag in her head. She smiled at me excitedly, and I waited for her big reveal. She turned to the other side and I saw the buzzcut she'd given to half her head.

"Like it?" She asked me.

"I do," I replied honestly.

Demi strolled over to the bed where I was sat up and kissed my lips, still clutching the bag in her hand.

She pulled away from me, but I muttered, "hey wait." I put my hand on the back of her neck and kissed her again, moving my other hand up to the shaved part of her head.

"Mm," I hummed.

Demi pulled back again, smiling. She held up the bag that was in her hands.

"What's that?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

Demi opened the bag and the smell overcame the entire room. Fresh cookies.

"Oh my god," I practically sang.

I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and squeezed her tightly, wincing because of the pain in my body.

"Thank you, babe."

Demi handed me a cookie, and ate one herself.

"So did they say when you're getting out of here?" She asked.

I nodded, and swallowed the rest of my cookie.

"Tomorrow, as long as everything's alright. I'm really lucky they said," I answered.

"Yes you are," Demi sighed. "You scared me a lot."

"Sorry, Dems," I pouted.

Demi kissed the tip of my nose, and then began telling me about her tour. She was incredibly excited.

"If you get out tomorrow we'll be starting the next day. I can't wait!" She squeeled.

"I know you can't," I laughed at her excitement.

A nurse came in to give me a quick checkup, wanting Demi and I to have a lot of time together.

"Everything seems to be fine. You'll be leaving tomorrow," She informed me.

Demi clapped her hands together like a child.

"Looks like we'll be all set to start tour in two days then."

It was the second day of Demi's tour, as well as my twentieth birthday. I had completely forgot about it until Demi reminded me yesterday, telling me all about a surprise she had for me.

"Morning, princess."

I woke up to the soft voice that belonged to Demi, her face inches away from mine, carrying an enormous smile.

"Hey Dems," I groaned.

"Happy birthday!" She cheered, raising her voice.

I grinned at her and said, "thank you."

"I've got a cake for you."

"For breakfast?" I laughed.

"Yeah! It's your birthday, fuck it!" Demi cheered.

I got out of the tiny bunk and stretched my arms out. Demi pulled me by my waist into her and muttered, "which is also what I should be doing to you."

With that my cheeks flared up, making her laugh.

I was still a bit rocky from the accident, I clutched onto Demi for support when walking most of the time. She lead me over to the table where a chocolate fudge cake sat, the words 'Happy 20th Ally' was frosted onto it.

"Thank you," I repeated.

"Dig in," She instructed me.

I took a fork and began eating, Demi as well started eating the other side. Between the two of us we finished (it was a small cake) and then sat back, rubbing our stomachs.

"Best breakfast I've ever had," Demi sang.

"Me too," I agreed.

"That wasn't your surprise though."

"Then what is my surprise?" I inquired, raising an eyebrow.

"It'll come later."

I was watching from the wings as Demi performed, still had not received this surprise she kept mentioning.

Finally, towards the end of the show Demi called me onto stage.

"I'd like to welcome my lovely girlfriend, it's her birthday today!"

Demi held out an arm for me as I walked on stage, feeling incredibly vulnerable.

I put an arm around Demi's shoulder and watched her, unsure of what was happening next.

Demi pulled out a stool and sat me down on it, then stood back.

"A few days ago you had an accident, and it literally scared the shit out of me."

I laughed at Demi's choice of words.

She continued, "I just want to say that I'm so glad you're safe. You make me so happy- I want to tell the entire world that. I want to tell them that I got the girl that I wanted, I love her so much, and I will always do my best to keep you safe. Although it's hard and things happen, I'm going to try."

"I know, Dems," I whispered, my heart melting.

"I love you so much. I'm so glad you're here to celebrate," She said. "This song is for Ally!"

And she continued on to sing 'Nightingale.'
