Chapter 101- Head over Heels

“It’s just Zhen, you don’t need to be so scared JiangEr” the emperor said worriedly as he saw how Jiang reacted to his change of appearance, seeing that Jiang still looked at him with scared and lost eyes the emperor decided to change back from Jun Tang’s appearance to his normal sixteen year old looking appearance which looked a bit more mature for the age.

“I know you are very shocked now and I should have been honest with you from the beginning, however, Zhen really found it hard admitting to his mistakes in front of you, Zhen didn’t want to lose you”

Jiang didn’t know what to think about the emperor being his Shifu and now his lover, it felt wrong somehow, everything felt so messed up, however, Jiang wasn’t going to dwell on that one detail, they were more pressing matters that weighs on his heart and that was what he was going to focus on right now“You hurt me and deceived me, you didn’t give me a chance to explain, the moment you saw my true appearance, you must have been so disgusted for interacting with such a monster and so you wanted to kill me, I know I deceived and betrayed you too for lying about my true identity and I was wrong, however, after spending that much time with me and teaching me so much, you should have given me the benefit of the doubt and let me explain, your majesty should have given me a chance to redeem myself” Jiang didn’t dare look at the emperor as he poured his heart out, tears were falling from his eyes as he spoke each word, he just couldn’t accept fully that the emperor was Jun Tang and that even when he thought he will leave the memory of Jun Tang in his past, he will still end up loving the same person and bringing him to his present.

The emperor shifted toward Jiang on the bed and tried to wipe off his tears, however, Jiang won’t let him and dodged his hands that approached his face, the emperor felt dejected but he knew he kind of deserved such an action from Jiang.

“Zhen is sorry for hurting you and have always regretted doing that to you, but I am sure deep down my JiangER knows that Zhen didn’t do all that to you because of how you looked at that time, Zhen doesn’t care if you are ugly or not, Zhen only felt very betrayed by someone he had come to care about and even love very much, just like you were scared of me in that moment Zhen was scared too” The emperor took Jiang’s face once more into his palms and made Jiang face him, they both stared intently into each others eyes as if trying to connect with each others souls and read what is within.

Then the emperor continued to speak solemnly ” Zhen was very frightened of been manipulated into falsely thinking of loving the wrong person just like Zhen’s imperial father, you must have heard stories about my father and an enchantress which General Lei conspired with to take over the empire, same General Lei who just happens to be your very own father”
