A/N for those of you guys wondering what year this takes place in, it is 2006
Patrick's POV
We walk outside and find an old red 1970 Ford pickup truck, which looked like it was going to break apart any minute now. Joe smirked, "What a piece of crap!" Picking off the peeling paint.
"Isn't this the truck that your dad gave you?" I ask Reyna, she gives me a sad look. Which tells me all I need.
She then turns to Joe and adds, "Joe this truck has been everywhere with me an I am not going to let it go." She smiles as she pulls off the tarp covering the back. To reveal a sleek silver motorcycle.
Joe's mouth literally dropped to the floor, "Is that a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14? Those aren't even on the market yet!" Rey just smiles and goes into the story of how she got it because she had friends in Kawasaki. But I tuned her out while I helped gently lift the bike off the bed of the truck.
After that she opened the truck doors to reveal a small mess of books, folders, instruments, food, and a suitcase. I turn to see Pete behind me investigating the pile. He picks the suitcase up and puts it down to show a small dusty leather journal that reads, Journal of Max Frazier, but Max was crossed out and replaced by, Reyna. Pete starts to open it but the journal is taken away by Reyna. "Sorry guys but this journal right now is for only for me to look at, and for you guys to look at later." She smiles the picks up the other paper crammed folders and skips off.
I spin around to talk to Joe, who is talking to Reyna and Andy maybe about her Kawasaki, but Pete stops me. He glares at Reyna and turns to me saying, "I really don't trust her 'Trick. How can we know that she is on our side? I mean what if she is withholding information from us? She could be a spy for Beckett and his vampires?"
"Pete we have been friends since we were kids, she is the one who got me into hunting vampires. She is even the one who came up with the alternative blood drink you drink everyday," I defend furiously I stomp over to Reyna. "I can take you to your room if you want."
I take her back to her room, which is a rather large room with a small bed, a desk, and a dresser. "I like it thanks 'Trick," she gives me a kiss on the cheek, "I can't wait to see what you did to this place." We walk out of her room after she put all her stuff in it. Rey even let Joe take her bike for a spin. He stopped after he almost crashed it into the warehouse.
After a while of touring the warehouse we make it down to the basement, "and here is the basement. Our storage area/training facility," I gesture to the wall of stakes and different gadgets. "And we also play music down here." I point to the instruments in the corner near the target dummies.
"Patrick this place is better then what we had when we first started," Reyna replied, "oh I forgot to ask you, how is the alternative blood working out for your friend Pete?"
"Yes it's working fine, I added garlic to it. That made it work even more," I explain Rey gives me an 'OMG I can't believe I forgot that' face. And I add, "but the drink is failing"
"We can try some new ingredients, did you change holy water lately? We can try some I brought from Cincinnati. We can try it tonight."
God I do love her smartness. Rey heads up stairs to get to bed before night hits the city of Chicago.
I hear a bang and yelling. I run upstairs into Rey's room to find Pete chocking her. "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!" I scream at Pete, who silently spins one of Rey's books to me, not taking his eyes off of her as she gasps for breath.
I stare in horror as I read, after years of searching I think I have found the thing that killed my parents six years ago. It is a vampire, but not the kind you would think, it's an ancient vampire. One that can't be killed by holy water or stakes. My father hunted this vampire for many years until he retired. I think this vampire is hanging out in Chicago, searching for me and I think his first target will be my old friend Patrick Stump and his band Fall Out Boy, which includes drummer Andy Hurley, lead guitarist Joe Trohman, and bassist Pete Wentz. Pete as I heard from rogue vampires in Las Vegas when I was there looking for my music friends and vampire hunters Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith. See page 154. That Pete is a vampire turned by William Beckett who was supposedly turned by the vampire I am hunting over 10 years ago.
I flipped back to page 154 it read, Today I am saddened by the loss of my fellow hunters/friends Spencer Smith and Brandon Urie. From what I have learned that they have been captured and rumored to have been turned by Chicago vampire William Beckett and his pack. The bottom part of page showed pictures of the vampires we have been hunting. Brendon is William's second in command and Spencer is one of his most ruthless followers.
I hear Pete say, "look at page 165. The one after the first entry you read."
I read that and it shows pictures of us, Fall Out Boy that is, performing, fighting vampires, and profiles on everyone of us. I turn the page again to find profiles on lots of vampires including Brendon, Spencer, and William.
I turn to Rey and question, "What the hell is this? I thought you weren't going to look for the vampire that killed your parents. You lied to me Rey!"
"I. Can. Explain," Rey chocked out tears streaming like rivers down her eyes. She hasn't seen me mad in a long time.
"You better start talking," I glare angrily at her, I knew Pete was definitely smirking behind me as he dropped Reyna, who was desperately gasping for breath like a fish out of water, "or I can give you to Pete and he can do what he likes."
