Just Friends

"Wake up." I quietly heard and I opened my eyes to see Nila shaking me and Hayes awake. I rubbed my eyes and sat up.

I looked over at my clock and saw it was 4 am. I was about to ask Nila why we were up so early, but then I remembered that we were leaving for Hawaii.

She was about to shake Hayes again, but I told her I would wake him up. She nodded and walked out of the room.

I lightly shook Hayes, but he didn't wake up. I groaned and walked into my bathroom before pouring soap on my hand and going back into my room.

I counted to three in my head before slapping his cheek and he immediately woke up.

I was leaned over, clutching my stomach from laughing so hard and Hayes' cheek was bright red. I thought he was mad but he started laughing too.

"Come on. We leave in like twenty minutes." I told him after we both finished laughing. He nodded his head and went into my closet for clothes.

He has stayed the night and forgotten clothes so many times that I just started putting them in my closet for him to get when he stayed over.

He took his shirt off and slipped on a plain black one and for pants he just wore a pair of Adidas sweatpants.

I waited till he was fixing himself up in the bathroom to get changed and when I did, I wore a pair of black leggings and a grey crew neck that said 'If I was a Kardashian, I wouldn't have to deal with this'. I put on my tan uggs and walked into the bathroom.

I left my hair in it's natural wavy state and brushed my teeth. I didn't do makeup because we were just going to be on a plane for six hours and it's not like I had anything to cover up, so it was pointless.

We both walked downstairs and my mom was waiting there with Starbucks in her hands. "i got you guys your favorites." she said as she handed them to us.

I thanked her and me and Hayes went to go sit in the car until everyone else was ready to leave.

We just got in the plane and I got a window seat next to some guy that looked around my age. "Hi. I'm Kaiden." he said with a smile as he held out his hand for me to shake.

I shook his hand, "I'm Sam." I said back and couldn't help but notice how attractive he was.

"Well I'm glad that I got stuck next to someone as pretty as you." Kaiden said with a wink and I giggled a little, trying to hide the tint of pink appearing on my cheeks.

"Yeah we are switching seats." Hayes said as he approached my seat and tried to switch with me. "Hayes it fine-" I started to say, but Kaiden cut me off.

"Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize you had a boyfriend. Here, you can take my seat." He said as he stood up.

"That's sweet of you but he's not my boyfri-" but Hayes spoke instead. "Thanks Hayden." he said, purposely saying the wrong name.

I shook my head at his foolishness as he sat next to me.

He looked at me and I just started laughing. "What!?" He asked while laughing a little too. "You're jealous." I teased him while pinching his cheeks.

"Duh. You're my bestfriend and you don't need a boyfriend." He said and Cameron leaned across the aisle to give Hayes a fist bump.

I playfully rolled my eyes and put on my head phones before drifting to sleep on Hayes' shoulder as the plane took off.
