when i fade into the darkness, that you don't understand.
i hope it's you, that'll wait for me to step back into the light, because ill need you there.

because there were always those nights, where my mind went to war with my heart.

the fight between what i knew, what i felt, and what i had to do.
and yet sometimes the hardest decisions are made under the moon.

and though i know how dangerous it is to romanticise the past, the thought of letting nostalgia drag up old memories from the depths of my heart, and fashion them into something they're not.

we all build an optical illusion from a memory and knelt before it like a false god, what we called love was nothing but foolish hope.

yet once we find the love that completes us and makes us whole, we have to leave it and some point.
because not everything lasts forever.

and everything has an ending, planned or not.

the white light that leaped at her eyes telling her to shut them as she pinched them shut feeling the vehicle speed closer to her while the squeak of the brakes scream into her ears

the front of the vehicle smacking into her thighs allowing the girl to wobble slightly but hold her balance as it comes to a stop in front of her

the blood seeping from her forehead and her body in pain from the previous events of the night, as she raises a hand to hide her vision from the lights

her ponytail flowing in the wind as a familiar voice rings through her ears

"layla!" a female voice yells as her eyes fix on a figure running towards her and bringing her arms to wrap around her body as she feels the familiar hold of the girl, leaning back from her arms
