"Celebrate, my friends! Celebrate all you want! Because we will be taking Titus down!"

The wolves all around me erupted in cheers. I raised my glass towards them and we all drank to our pack's victory. And victory was close.

"We have a weapon that can take Titus's men down without even moving! We have power. You may have heard that Titus can take down a hundred men at the same time. You have heard right. Which is exactly why two hundred of you will fight Titus. We have power! We have an army that outnumbers theirs! We have Alpha Damien! We have a weapon that no wolf can fight! And we have you! All of you! You will fight this war that will change the course of history as we know it!"

I heard more cheers and some howls here and there.

We had declared war on Titus and his pack. Damien's pack and mine outnumbered his. And we also had Jayden.

Jayden was an Enver. He had control over minds; feelings, thoughts and emotions. We already knew that Jayden's powers were ineffective on Titus but his wolves could not resist. So we had entered his territory with the help of Jayden and we had taken all the wolves we encountered on our side. They had been manipulated to believe that they were our allies.

And then there was good old Corinne. Titus's ex girlfriend and third in command. He cared deeply for her. I really wanted to see how shocked he would be to see Cori supporting us.

There was a tiny problem, though. One enver was hardly enough when they came at us from all sides. So we had to be prepared.

If they managed to get to Jayden then all his power would be gone. All his compulsions would be broken. All we had done would go in vain.

So I had assigned ten wolves to protect Jayden at all times. There was only one person who's loyalty I was worried about.

Serena.

She was standing by me with a wolf on either side of her. She didn't know that they were there to watch her every move so she could not betray me or the pack.

I had become a prisoner of my own feelings. I felt this intense love for Serena. But I also felt an intense distrust of her.

"Liam," Serena said as she turned to me, "I want to be a part of the fight."

"No," I said.

"Well, this is my pack now and I have a right-"

"You have no right, rogue!" Damien spat at her, "if you weren't Liam's mate, you'd be dead right now. So be grateful something good came out of your ridiculous endeavor and stay out of pack business."

"Liam, won't you say anything to him?" Serena looked up at me angrily.

"Serena, you did aid the wolf who murdered his sister. What do you expect?"

She looked at me in disbelief.

"I just want you both to know that Titus is an Esprit wolf whose power has been immensely enhanced because he's an Alpha who is now mated. You two won't be able to kill him."

"We didn't say we were going to kill him," I grinned at Serena. She was clueless about our plan.

"You can't treat me like I'm your prisoner,"

"I'm not treating you like you're my prisoner."

She eyed the two wolves on either side of her and raised an eyebrow at me.

"They're watching over you," I said, "for your own good."

"For my good or yours?"

I grabbed her by the waist and held her up against the car behind us. She didn't know what hit her.
