I Faked It

I fake a smile

I fake a laugh

I wear a mask

A superficial mask of skin-deep beauty

A disguise

So paper thin

It is only a world of fantasy

The thing I seem

To notice most

Is no one ever

Seems to see

The other sides

Of me

It hurts to know

That no one cares

Behind the mask

I cry all alone

And dye my world

In red and black

I can fake a smile

I can fake a laugh

But I cannot fake

An unbroken heart
