"I didn't mean it" I tried to defend "it just came out" I added and he shook his head furiously,

"That's not a good enough answer Gracelyn" my brother replied "you can forget about going out with your friends and go to your room instead" he told me and I groaned,

"Please Jay. I'm really sorry" I pleaded but he shook his head,

"You're not going and that's the end of it" he stated "get out of my sight" he instructed firmly and I let out a furious screech,

"You're being so unfair" I shouted and Jay raised a simple eyebrow at my comment,

"Room Gracie. Now." He stated once again,

"Fine" I shouted back "you know what" I turned back towards him "you are a dick" I screamed before slamming my bedroom door shut and falling on to my bed. I was more than ready for Jay to storm in to my room and lecture me on my choice of language, but it didn't happen. So instead I grabbed my laptop and selected something on Netflix to try and calm me down. However, once Jay heard the sound of music playing quietly through the speakers, he walked in to my room and closed my laptop lid,

"I don't think so" he mumbled before taking it off my bed along with my phone,

"I haven't texted Amy to say I'm not allowed to come" I shouted as he turned to leave my room with my electronics in hand,

"Not my problem" he replied. Urgh! This is so unfair! I mean sure. Maybe I was a little out of order for calling him that. And maybe slightly insane for doing to his face...but he pushed me to it!

I stayed in my room for hours, just staring up at the ceiling before I heard Wills voice fill the apartment. Great. I listened as footsteps came closer to my bedroom before there was a light knock and Will walked in without waiting for an answer,

"Just walk in why don't you" I exclaimed from my place on the bed,

"Don't you think you're in enough trouble as it is without the attitude?" Will asked me as he closed the door behind him. I let out a heavy sigh. He was right.

"Sorry" I mumbled and he sat down next to my on the bed,

"So" he crossed his arms casually across his chest "I don't know if you're brave or stupid" he commented and I scoffed,

"Well...I didn't get to go out with my friends and Jay is majorly pisse-" Will cut me off by smacking the side of my leg slightly,

"Watch your language Gracelyn" he warned,

"Sorry" I mumbled whilst I rubbed my leg slightly "Jay's really mad at me" I corrected myself and Will nodded.

"Don't you think he has a right to be?" He asked "You're in the wrong here Gracie" he said and I looked up at him with pleading eyes,

"I admit I was in the wrong for calling him a di-" I cut myself off when I saw the look my brother was giving me "I admit I was in the wrong for calling him what I did" I corrected myself once again "but he pushed me to it" I accused and Will raised an unconvinced eyebrow at my statement,

"How'd you come up with that one?" He asked curiously.

"He was being overdramatic Will" I exclaimed "he made me change dresses" I informed,

"Why did he do that?" Will asked,

"Because he's a dic-" I ranted,

"Gracelyn Halstead" he raised his voice "I'm not gonna warn you about that again" he lectured "use your brain. That's what got you in to trouble to begin with" he reminded "you're not to old to have your mouth washed out with soap you know" he threatened. No thank you!

"Sorry. I'll try and watch it" I promised "he said my dress was too short so I had to change if I wanted to go out" I explained and Will nodded,

"I don't think that's unreasonable Gracie" he sided with Jay "where's the dress?" He asked and I pointed to where it was unceremoniously laying in the middle of my bedroom floor. Will stood up and and picked it up off the floor and held it up in front of him "I mean come on Gracie" he exclaimed in amusement "you can't seriously think this is appropriate for a fourteen year old girl to wear" he told me and I shrugged "you might think we're protective but we're just trying to do what's best for you" he told me as he put the dress down on my desk chair and walked back over to me "and Jay said you could go if you changed, which you did. If you hadn't let your mouth run off from you then you wouldn't be in this situation" he lectured and I sighed,

"I know" I agreed "he just annoyed me" I admitted,

"I get that" he nodded "but you shout never talk to someone like that no matter how angry you are. Especially too me or Jay" he finished "I'm going to take a shower. I want you to go talk to Jay and apologise" he told me and I huffed,

"Only if he apologised as well" I replied and he tilted his head with a pointed look "fine" I caved and he gave me one last look before leaving to take a shower.

I stayed in my room procrastinating for another couple of minutes before deciding that it was time I faced the music. With a heavy sight and a sense of reluctance in my step, I walked in to the kitchen where Jay was sat on the sofa in the living room,

"Jay" I said in a bid to catch his attention "I'm sorry" I said and he looked over at me,

"Come sit down" he instructed and I did as I was told "I'm glad that you're sorry but that doesn't excuse the was you spoke to me" he said and I nodded,

"I know" I agreed "you just made me so angry and it came out before I could stop it" I attempted to defend,

"Twice?" He asked unimpressed and I looked down at my hands nervously "I appreciate that you where angry Gracie, but you never speak to me, or Will for that matter, like that again" he lectured "do you understand me?" He asked and I nodded,

"Yes sir" I agreed and he pulled me in to his side "use your head in the future Gracie" he added "your fourteen years old. Just remember that" he added.
