I woke up the next morning with a pounding headache.

I groaned and looked for the time. I clicked the lock button on my phone and a picture of Jack and I appeared.

I smiled at the memory and proceeded to check the time. It was a quarter past 11 in the morning.

I debated whether or not I should text Jack before I said fuck it and unlocked my phone.

I scrolled through the numerous texts I send him him last night.

At first, the only word that came to mind was embarrassment. Then, I began to realize he never texted me back.

Something could have happened to me, yet he didn't seem to care. Maybe it was because he didn't want me to go in the first place or he just simply didn't give a shit. But regardless of all that I think a text saying, "are you okay?" was more than needed.

I got out of bed and went straight towards the kitchen cupboards. After dropping a few, okay maybe more than a few, bottles of pills I finally found the aspirin I so desperately desired.

I swallowed two pills with a glass of water before I hopped into the shower.

After about half an hour, I was finished getting ready and grabbed a granola bar before heading out.

Today was going to be the first day at my internship and to say I was nervous was the understatement of the year. However, my excitement would quickly distract me from it.

The walk from my apartment to the workplace was ten minutes tops which I didn't mind at all.

When I finally arrived I was in awe.

The walls were covered in beautiful photograph, the floors were made of marble, and the view was breathtaking.

"You must be Elena Collins if I'm not mistaken." I hear an English accent call out. I turn to find an attractive man staring at me.

He was at least six feet, chocolate brown hair, and his ocean colored eyes seemed to be seeping into my soul.

"Um yeah that's me." I coughed out awkwardly.

"Excellent, I'm Anthony Stonem and I'll be your partner if you will for the remainder of your stay here." He said flashing an award winning smile at me.

"I have no memory of being told I was going to have a partner." I bluntly reply.

"Trying to get rid of me so soon yeah?" A chuckle escaped from his lips.

"No, god no it's just -"

"It's fine Elena I understood what you meant." Anthony said and gave me a warm smile. "Well if we're going to be seeing each other quite often, fancy a cup of copy?"

"I don't know what that means." I embarrassedly mumble.

"Oh right sorry forgot you're American, it basically means do you want to go get a cup of coffee?"

"Like a date?" I blurt out.

"I don't suppose it's a date really, more of getting to know one another," I feel the blood rushing to my cheeks, "however, if you want to call it a date then so be it."

"No no I have a boyfriend."

"Very well then, do think he would mind if I stole you for lunch later?"

"I don't know, but it's not his place to decide now is it?"

He let out another chuckle before responding, "I suppose not."

okay thank you to everyone who has continued to read this crap story despite my irregular updates and shit storyline.

I know this is kinda short and it's very awful but I haven't updated in a while which makes me feel pressured to write resulting in shitty chapters.

I dunno when the next update will be but I hopefully I won't keep you waiting too long. I love you all.
