The same moment, Renata visited Cecille in her house. After Cecille opened the door, Renata instantly hugged her since she saw her sister being in a horrible condition..
"Darling, why are you doing this to yourself?", Renata asked her.
"You shouldn't worry. It's not going to be harmful for anyone, since I do not disturb anyone out there with what I'm doing in here.", Cecille answered.
"Cecille, please be reasonable. You're staying in this house all day, with your shutters closed. You don't go out, you don't talk to anyone and you hardly eat. This is going to destroy you!", Renata told her.
"I'm already destroyed, Renata!", Cecille said and she sat in the living room's couch. Renata closed the door and also sat in the couch.
"No, you're not Cecille! Do you know how much I hurt for Leslie's death? I still haven't gotten over it. But Leslie wouldn't want to see us like that. Leslie left because she thought that our lives would be better without her as a burden. Yes, I disagreed with her, because I never considered my little sister a burden, but this was her own choice. She wasn't a child, but an adult. A very intelligent one. And she made that choice so we should respect it, even if we didn't agree.", Renata told her.
"Whatever you're going to say, it's going to be the same for me. Those 6 months have been extremely harsh to me and pain, sorrow, anger will remain the same afterwards as well. I suddenly learned that my husband contributed to a young girl's rape and to a heist in Norway. That he was a scumbag who put an innocent man in jail for his and Emmanuel's mistakes. And I thought that he has been honorable his entire life..", Cecille said.
"I shouldn't have told you the truth about Tyler.. I read about the article Elvira Vincent herself wrote on the internet, which included her experience when she was raped by Tyler and Emmanuel. She never got over it! It still haunts her.. Even though Tyler had already died, I considered it the only choice I had. I had to tell you the truth, but I didn't know that it would destroy you that much until today.", Renata said.
"No. You did what was right. I had to learn about my 'loving' and 'caring' husband's past deeds. But this isn't what hurts me the most. The thing that truly does, is that Leslie's murderer is still out there completely free. And we both know who she is.", Cecille said.
"Cecille, you should stop! You'd better end this absurd hatred about Vanessa. For the last time I'm gonna tell you that she is innocent! She only did what one of her best friends asked her to do because she was the most appropriate person to do it. Do not judge her about it! It wasn't easy for her either.", Renata told her.
"Don't presume to talk to me about her like that. She is a murderer. She killed our sister, Renata! Wake up, at last! She could have been saved and Vanessa destroyed that last chance. So now, you hear me and..", Cecille shouted.
"No! Now YOU, hear ME and what I have to say. Now I talk, Cecille. I am your sister, and you know I love you so much. I loved Leslie too. But I can't judge Vanessa by what she did. We both know that Leslie would have died either way. Her condition was irreversible and her death inevitable. She would have died with way more suffering, and now she died completely painlessly. Euthanasia is not murder, Cecille. By law, it is not!", Renata told her.
"But by sentiment, it is. To me, she is a killer and nothing more. She deprived my sister and her life from her.", Cecille responded.
"I know her pain hurts you. Of course it hurts us both. But we have to move on, Cecille. We have to go out and arrest the true criminals of this world, and not the ones who set us free from our misery. Vanessa only helped Leslie achieve her goal. But what did Jackson do, for instance?", Renata asked Cecille.
"How's Jackson involved into our conversation? He is dead, isn't he?", Cecille asked her.
"We would have wished that, but luck was against us. But to be honest, I would prefer him to stay alive and keep rotting every day inside a cell rather than die without pain. His supposed car accident was fake. He directed his own death only to return 6 months later and get his revenge. He almost murdered me last night.", Renata told her.
"What? Renata, are you serious right now? Are.. Are you okay? Did he hurt you?", Cecille asked her.
"I'm fine, darling. But I wouldn't be if his gun's bullets had penetrated my skin. If I hadn't turned the lights off, you would have remained the only one of the Short sisters alive.", Renata said.
"Thank God you're alive. I wouldn't be able to survive if I had lost you too.", Cecille said and hugged Renata.
"Do you see the point now, Cecille? There is no reason to be angry and feel hatred for the people that we love and who also love us back. True criminals are out there, and they are the ones that we have to go after. I know it might be early for you to forgive Vanessa, but please think about it. She's your friend, Cecille. She has always been your friend!", Renata said, kissed Cecille on the cheek and left from the house. Cecille kept sitting in the couch, thinking about what Renata said.
