"Michelle, you pregnant?"
I face palmed myself and Bey's eyes widened and her jaw dropped as she looked at Solo and then me, "What?!"
I sighed deeply as I rubbed my temples, "Solo how did you find out? I haven't even told anyone yet!" I exclaimed incredulously. I wasn't upset with her for telling my business, but this definitely wasn't how I wanted Bey to find out.
"I was coming back with Mama's plate, and I could tell from the look on y'all faces y'all were having a tense conversation, and you know I'm nosy! I was reading mama's lips and I saw her say that you were pregnant, and I was so shocked I dropped her plate, but thankfully she didn't see that. I hurried and cleaned it up and went to make another plate but by the time I came back you were gone. So judging by your response I guess I heard correctly. Who knocked your Christian ass up? Jesus?" she asked before cracking up.
"You're... pregnant?" Bey asked, her facial expression and tone a mix of shock, bewilderment, and disbelief. She slowly began to step towards me, and with each step it looked like her shock was being replaced by a blanket of happiness. Her eyes began to twinkle and shine with unshed tears and her smile grew wider, "You having my baby?" she softly asked as if to say 'don't play with me right now', her tone was full of hope and bubbling excitement, which made me feel at ease.
I chuckled and nodded softly, "Yes Pook, I'm having your baby," I confirmed and she squealed as she engulfed me in a big hug, spinning me around in circles.
"Oh my God!!! We're having a baby!" she exclaimed, her voice breaking as she began to cry. She put me down and buried her head in my neck as she broke down and cried.
"Wow, I was NOT expecting that. I always felt like you two should have been together, but I had no idea Bey was already taking you to Poundtown and shooting your club up," Solo said.
I gasped, "SOLO!"
"Shut up Solange!" Bey said as she pulled away, wiping her eyes but that still couldn't stop the tears from falling. She reached down and lifted my shirt, and once she saw my small baby bump she started to cry all over again. She bent down and kissed my belly while rubbing it, "Hi Baba! It's your Mama! You are the best birthday gift ever," she cried as she kissed my stomach again, "I love you sooooo much, and I can't wait to meet you, but not until you're good and ready," she said giving my belly one more kiss before standing back up and hugging me again, "Thank you, for making this the best birthday ever," she said as she began to rock us from side to side.
"I'm just following your lead, since you were the one who made my birthday the best ever, that led to this gift here. I guess you can say your gift was the gift that keeps giving," I said and Solo gagged.
"Ok, I ain't trying to hear all that, ya nasty's," she said, shaking off her wave of nausea.
"That's what you get for telling other people's secrets, you end up hearing something you didn't wanna hear," I joked, and she straight-faced me, "It's all love though, just make sure you don't tell anyone else. I'm only six weeks along and I wanted to wait until my first trimester was over before I told anyone," I finished.
"Ok, Ok, I got you. So wait, if y'all were doing the do, then why aren't y'all together?" Solo asked, "This doesn't make any sense."
"It doesn't make sense because you minding our business.Don't worry about all that, just know that as long as it makes sense to us that's all that matters, and that you need to get ready so you can be the best auntie to our little Prince," Bey said as she rubbed my stomach.
"Prince? What makes you so sure we not having a little Princess?" I asked.
"What's understood doesn't have to be explained. My son and I have an understanding, therefore there's no explanation needed," she cockily replied with a wink.
