Juliet, 2 Months Later, July
"Juliet, come on. We're going to be late."
"Ella, it's my own birthday."
"Doesn't mean I won't try and hurry you up."
"Alright, alright, come on, Ms. Pushy." I smiled at her.
Yes. Today is my birthday. My 18th birthday.
The boys had banned Ella and I from the house, while Sarah was at school, the twins were at preschool and Xavier was in first grade . Imogen would watch them for a bit, and return them at some point. But for now, Ella and I would be getting pampered.
"Aren't you excited? You're 18! Come on. You're so calm about it."
"It's just another birthday, Ella. I've had 17 other ones."
"But this is the big 1-8!"
"Ella, most kids are excited to move out and be free from their parents thumb. I've had that since I was 14. When One Direction formed, I traveled with Niall and the boys. I got to do pretty much whatever I wanted. I got a modeling job. And then...I had kids. I've pretty much lived the life of a 30 year old."
"Hey, you're 18. Relax! So you've had a few kids. You look great, and you've done well. You've taken care of the kids perfectly, and handled things that most parents don't at the age of 16 to now. You should be proud."
"I know. I am proud of my kids. They are pretty cool." I joked.
"Exactly. So now, enjoy the pampering."
"This is Harry's doing, isn't it."
After a few hours of massages, manicures and pedicures, we decided to go shopping for a bit. Apparently, we were having a big fancy dinner at Nando's tonight in celebration of my birthday. We were driven to the mall, and it wasn't too busy today. Which I'm okay with; I don't need a security team today.
We walked around, looking in random shops and looking at some of the formal dresses. I mean, we both had a few at home, but they either didn't fit or had been worn so many times, it was just old.
"Hey Jewels, check this one out." Ella said, getting my attention. I looked to her holding up a pink dress with some black linings. It was strapless and went to her knee.
"I like it. You should try it on." I said, smiling at her.
"Hey, what about this one for you?" she said, pulling another dress.
It looked like something I would wear. It was a deep purple color that would show off my waist, and then had a bubbly taffeta bottom. It'd probably be halfway down my thigh. It had a little sparkle on the top, and was strapless.
"I like it. Let's try them on."
We did, and it turned out these would be our dresses for tonight.
"Hey, what time is it?" I asked Ella.
"6:30. Oh geez, we gotta get going! Dinner's at 8."
We paid for the formal dresses and headed home. We found none of the boys home, but that Imogen was here with the kids.
"Imogen! what are you doing here?" I asked her, giving her a hug.
"Watching your kids, of course! Why else would I be here?" she joked.
"You're not coming to my birthday dinner?" I whined.
"No. but we'll do something, I promise. I'm just...not a fan of Nando's. And, well, no one else will wtach your kids."
I pouted but only jokingly. "Alright. But I'm holding you to that handout thing."
"I'm okay with that."
Ella interjected. "Alright, we gotta get ready!"
"Right. Thanks Imogen!"
"No problem!" she shouted back as Ella and I climbed the stairs.
Over the next hour and some minutes, Ella and I freshened our make up, and did our hair. She curled mine softly and I braided her hair with a fishtail braid. Ella and I both wore black flats. The both of us weren't short; I was about five foot six, and she was five four. Granted, she's not the tallest person ever, but we both never liked wearing heels too much.
I took a look in the mirror and liked what I saw. And so did Ella, prompting her to shoo us out the door.
We arrived at our local Nando's in about 15 minutes. There was a crowd of fans and paparazzi, meaning a crapload of security would be around. Confirming my suspicion was Paul opening my door and escorting me inside. Once I was inside, he went back and brought in Ella. He told us to enjoy our dinner and wished me a happy birthday. I thanked him, and Ella and I joined our boys for dinner.
"Hey, guys." I said, eanring the attention of all five boys.
Harry and Niall got up, greeting us with a hug and a kiss. We all talked how the day had gone, just small talk.
"By the way, we do have one surprise for you tonight." Harry said slyly.
I looked at him, slightly worried. But in walked three other girls, some of my best friends in the world. Ella and I instantly got up and hugged them.
"What are you guys doing here? You aren't supposed to be here!" I exclaimed happily.
"Well, we lied." Dani said simply.
"But you still love us." Perrie followed.
"And we're here anyways." Eleanor finished.
"Well, I'm glad you guys are. Well, come sit down." I told them.
We talked about the secret plans of getting them here, and I did smack Harry in the arm a few times. I admit it.
Jerks kept this from me. How dare they.
I asked them about their travels and the fun times they had, and shared stories of some the embarrassing moments we shared.
Harry, though, changed the tide of conversation.
"Over the past few months, I've had some decisions to make. Some have been easy, some haven't been quite so. I've gone to my mother and my sister, even some of the people in this room. Juliet..."
Wait, what did I have in this?
But before I realized what was happening, he got down on one knee and took my hands in his. I could feel the blood rush to my cheeks.
"The first day we met was back when you visited Niall on X-Factor at the house. Since then, I wanted to know you better. When Niall said you'd be living and traveling with us, I was ecstatic. I thought, 'Maybe this girl could be the one.' I've never felt what I feel for you, ever. When you found our you were pregnant with the twins...I-I just wanted to take you up in my arms, hold you and never let you go. I felt like I didn't do my job of protecting you. Since then, we've had our problems. Really big ones, that we thought we would never overcome, but we have. Sarah, Junior, Darcy... I feel like they are my children. But I want it to be official. You've given me many chances before when I didn't deserve them. You make me feel like I am on top of the whole world. What I'm tyring to say is...."
He took a small, velvet box out of his pocket and opened it. In it was a diamond ring: a large one, in the shape of a heart. He looked me straight in the eyes.
"Will you marry me?"
